At the same time my father's business was good, a number of staff had what we would now call executive cars. Someone left and left behind a Granada Ghia Coupe with the 3.0V6 Cologne engine. Not the best cars but by the standards of the day it packed a lot of torque and had a lovely velour and wood trimmed interior. Dad drove it for a short while before getting his NSU Ro80. The 604 followed.

…Granada Ghia Coupe … lovely velour and wood trimmed interior. And Humph said I was bad for Vić’s concentration! Dad drove it for a short while before getting his NSU Ro80. The 604 followed. …to pick up the bits?

Yeah - something like that. Dad's business was selling heating oil so had a fleet of road tankers and had a fully equipped and staffed commercial vehicle garage to maintain them. He sent Keith, the chief mechanic, on the course to maintain and repair the Wankel engine. Keith was a busy man.....

Wasn’t there a big Vauxhally coupe too? Opel Monza is somehow lurking in my memory.

Royale. Monza was the Opel badged version.
I like both of those too.

Speaking of big coupes you don’t really see anymore, there was a BMW 5 series GT stuck halfway through a hedge on my way back from swimming last night. There’s a couple of challenging bends on that country road that catch the non driving gods out with tedious regularity.
