Actually wondering if the S60 ever had diesels? The V60 did but thinking now the S60 did not. You can still order a diesel V60. There's B3, B4, B5 B6 and D4 for the V60. The PHEV is now a T6 rather than T8.

>>...at those prices it's not really worthwhile looking for a used one.
True enough, unless of course you have an especially cunning plan...

The PHEV is now a T6 rather than T8. Depends which S60 you are talking about. The early ones had the 2.4 five cylinder D5 which WDB and I both had variants of. The 2010 model had five diesel engines D2..6, the 6 being a diesel-hybrid For the latest iteration diesel has been dropped from the S60 and Volvo have entered their let's confuse the customer marketing phase once again. A T5 can be a four cylinder 2.0 petrol with c.250PS, if combined with the word hybrid then it drops a cylinder and 500cc to 180PS with an 80PS electric motor making up the shortfall as seen in the XC40. 180PS from ICE used to be called "4" in Volvo speak. Correction: The D6 didn't make it into the S60, probably due to lack of boot space.

Thank you, BPG. Can you do Audi next, as I can’t make head or tail of their designations? 🤔

It's a Berlingo, isn't it? No, but it's so cunning, you could pin a tail on it and call it a weasel...

You have threatened one or the other recently. WDB - life is too short to work out what Audi are doing. I'd go with the bigger the number the better unless advised otherwise.

I imagine it's similar to Volvo, without the confusion of resemblance to a previous, fact-based scheme (D4 four cylinders, D5 five...) They can put the same arbitrary number on petrol, diesel, PHEV or full electric and it eventually won't matter what's under the bonnet.

It was the T8 but not a T6. So I assume they dropped the turbo/supercharged engine for just the lower power turbo to lower emissions but then why not go the whole hog and use the 1.5 litre 3 cylinder they use in the XC40?

It's the cunningest plan this side of a Bond villain. So cunning, I may have to buy a cat to stroke.
