Can't you just put it in your mouth?
The old S60 had a nicely angled (and thickly carpeted) wheelarch to the right of the pedals, which made cruise-controlling very comfortable. The E, being RWD, has its wheels further forward, but I've found on long French motorway trips that the right foot slips easily enough below the brake pedal, and it's easy enough to withdraw when necessary.
The BMW has a similar arrangement, again with the accelerator well to the right. I can put my foot under the brake there too, but the CC lever is the car's one serious ergonomic flaw, to the point that I can't remember how to use it so I seldom bother.
How are you getting on with your floor-hinged accelerator, Vić?

Indeed. I'd be most concerned about a certain occasional female operative accidently activating such a feature and then panicking about what was or wasn't going on. I could of course brief said operative before first operation, however I can visualise the glazed over eye balls and my words exiting ear left within nanoseconds.
EDIT: this one was to cc, WDB got in between us.

Ah, I see cc sussed it.
Floor hinged pedal? Yes, I wasn't at all happy about having one of those, but on closer inspection the design is such that a jammed stone seems a far less likely occurrence than it was in my VAG cars. In the E it is "lifted" a bit off the floor and part of a larger U shape, rather than simply hinged directly to the floor with some beautifully crafted stone-capture ridges as per VAG (and BMW I think?).

I guess if you got it horribly wrong they could become so. I guess that's called the Bader option

I can't actually remember what I do with my feet when using cruise control. Must be something I suppose. I shall make a point of checking next time I do.

No, don't! It'll be like walking: if you think about what you're doing, it'll all go horribly wrong. Save that for when you're hurtling down a quarry on one-and-a-bit wheels. 😈

Save that for when you're hurtling down a quarry on one-and-a-bit wheels. 😈 When you lose the use of one of your legs, and you relay on sticks you do actually end up thinking about how you walk. Where your sticks go, in what order, what the adhesion is like, if you dont think about it or take care, it can and does go horribly wrong.

I've found the brake hold function on my E, but it seems only to work on slopes. How do I get it to work in traffic?

Just press the brake a bit harder than normal and release.

I'm sure it'll be fine. Rather suspect the reason it "works on slopes" is because you're naturally pressing the brake pedal a bit harder when you're on them. If you want to pause on the flat, feet off, you just have to push the brake pedal a wee bit further and a "hold" message will come up on the dash.
