When I want to Greece last month, mid week I started coughing... So I tested myself and it was negative. I continued coughing and indeed it got worse. When home I used a test kit from a different pack (says to keep below 30 deg C) and got a feint line... Then a few days later as test showed +ve almost immediately. Took over a week before it showed negative. Never felt poorly apart from having a cough.
I hope you continue to feel better.

... and got a feint line... Perhaps the test was dodgy.

I had one of the symptoms and the next day the positive line was well defined and appeared quickly. I had Covid. I then continued to test positive for 8 days.

So the UK has had a couple of hot weekends, and Yes it’s generally drier in summer anyway, but is there really a full-on drought taking a grip on the country?!
Stories of hose pipe bans and falling river levels?
I thought that the privatised water companies had spent the past 30 years fixing their leaky pipes (when the revelation first came to light that Thames Water was losing most of its water)?!
Surely it’s just pleasant summer weather (for a change)?

You won’t need much googling to find that it’s dry here. Very dry.

The rain needs to fall on the hills to fill reservoirs - from images I've seen they are not as full as they should be for sure.
As for fixing leaks.... even the leak at the water meter at our house took nearly 2 years for them to fix. A slow leak admittedly but in the end they had to refund for charges due to lost water. Their engineer who checked it first admitted it was leaking but then they refused to do anything else. When they said the two of us were using as much water a day as a 5+ family they sort of admitted they should take another look.

It's not just the UK dixi, the Rhine is reaching levels low enough to prevent shipping from navigating it. Which will just add to the economic problems at the moment.
It's like a tinderbox here, my lawn is absolutely dead and will need re-turfing, the local park is like the Gobi. No rain in the forecast for the south, but I'm given to understand there's a surplus of rain/water in the North West of England (what a surprise). And we still don't have an infrastructure to move water around the country when imbalances like this happen.
So yes, hosepipe bans are starting ( not here yet, but not far away in Hampshire), and river levels are dropping. Why is that so hard to believe?

Yes, improbably dry everywhere. I played cricket on Saturday at a fabulously pretty ground up a Chiltern. Out of nearly 400 runs in the afternoon, maybe 10 were scored in twos, because anything that didn’t go straight to a fielder’s hand ran away for four. Outfields are usually quick in August, of course, but this was exceptional.
Exceptional in my previous experience, that is. We’re going to have to get used to it. I’ve not dared light a cooking fire outside for months. I don’t suppose I’d set fire to our entire neighbourhood but I really don’t want to be the guy that did.

We've got a mobile canine sprinkler wanders the garden. You can see his favourite spots, lush green grass which requires cutting. The rest is burnt to a crisp.
The cherries in the tree have long since gone from this year's crop, apples won't be ready until later this month or early September. Luckily we have an underground tank and hand-pump for watering the Apple tree.

See this is what's wrong with the housing stock in the UK. All houses should be built with rainwater gathering and grey water recycling systems for decades. We just throw up the cheapest possible crap the developers can get away with to maximize profits.
Jus thought I'd get that off my chest before Rishi Sunak imposes 15 year prison sentences for saying anything negative about the country.

Surprisingly our apple tree has loads of apples and they are probably ready. We went picking a load of blackberries yesterday which is a lot earlier than normal. I bet the hills where we sometimes get bilberries has loads already.
