I think it more likely we'll have a Lib-Lab coalition. Dependent on electoral reform being delivered without referendum.

Given that Tobias Ellwood is clearly a very upright person as are Tom Tugendhat and Ben Wallace I am not sure what you are saying. Tugendhat has put his head above the papapet regarding China (quite rightly), Ellwood is a former soldier who is genuinely a hero for trying to saves lives after a terrorist attack outside Parliament and Ben Wallace was apparently a very good Defence Secretary. Can't say that about anyone in the SNP, Liberals or many Labour MPs. Just remember that backing the wrong horse at the next election could destroy the UK. Don't want Wee Krankie getting any sniff of power. I assume the 'Wee Krankie' reference is flogging the dead and skeletal horse of Nicola Sturgeon's phisog resembling that of a life expired comedy act. She's not, and never has been, a Westminster MP. If there were a deal with the SNP then it would be their Westminster leader, Iain Blackford, who might hold Ministerial Office. What about the nationalists is there to be frightened of?

The SNP in parliament do exactly what Sturgeon tells them. She wants Independence and this is her chance to do everything she can to get another referendum.
Do you want that?

The SNP in parliament do exactly what Sturgeon tells them. She wants Independence and this is her chance to do everything she can to get another referendum. Do you want that?I'm easy about it. 2014 was supposed to be once in a generation. By cock up rather than conspiracy (a) the EU centric Scots were told they could only remain in the EU if they voted no and (b) less than two years later they were set up to be dragged out of the EU on the coat tails of English nationalism. Literally the day after the referendum Gove and Cameron, the day before united with Gordon Brown as 'better together' were banging the drum over Scotland's representation at Westminster disinterring the West Lothian question. The effect was to nullify once in a generation. That doesn't mean I favour Scottish independence; with ill will on the English side it could make Brexit look like a tea party. England centric government in London has set Sturgeon's stall out with no effort at all needed on her part.

And there he was, gone, despite being admired from "Kyiv to Carlisle" apparently. Well shes' righ there I suppose, nobody beyond Carlisle admires the ludicrous balloon. So it comes to pass, all those who voted Tory in 2019 are now complicit in Liz Truss becoming Prime Minister. I hope I'm completely wrong, but this could well be the worst PM we've ever seen in this country. So far the list is: 1 - Johnson. 2 - May. 3 - Cameron. Are we seeing a pattern here, I wonder?

Unless he hits a very lucrative after dinner speech scene wider than his cummerbund, I don't think the UK has seen the last of Boris.

I copied this picture from The Guardian into an email I sent to my Tory MP to mark the occasion. Word, which I was using to compose the message, has a feature that automatically adds 'alt text' to pictures based on its analysis of the content. For this one, it offered 'A person with her mouth open'.

Today we are watching, in real time, the consequences of this country's refusal to accept that it needs a real constitution and an independent, elected Head of State. The need for an immediate General Election is obvious and overwhelming. However, no mechanism exists to force the disgraced, incompetent, and destructive governing party to call one. So they won't.
For centuries now we bimbled along on gentlemen's agreements, never considering what would happen when the gentlemen leave the stage to be replaced with corrupt vandals and hooligans. Well, here it is now. Right here, before our very eyes, live on Sky, in real time.
Enjoy.

However in some countries the Prime Minister would not have resigned but hung on.
It is a shambles though and an embarrassment. But we are not quite a banana republic yet...

Well of course not, it's not warm enough here to grow bananas. More of a turnip monarchy.
However, it was in this very country that Johnson hung on past several events which would have caused any previous British PM to resign so I reject your assertion of British exceptionalism completely.
Meanwhile, Johnson is now emerging as a potential candidate for PM.
Gather the turnips, Baldrick, we're in for a long winter.

I wouldn't like to be on a relatively fixed income at the minute with the way this lot are handling the economy.
