Now that Scoobyroobyroo is a blinder. On the list for further investigations when I return from half term. One slight fly in the sake - it's going to need all its suspension fixing for the next MOT by the looks of it.
Second link is now dead, whatever it was has gorn.

I really have a lot of fun in older cars. I like cars with character. I am in the final stages of acquiring a truly knackered old 2CV. I will adore it. Though I probably won't drive it up in the hills. Hang on, you scrapped that old MG you found in the barn, and are now buying a 2CV in knackered condition? Although I approve of knackered 2CVs, I are sad that you couldn't keep the MG.

A Volvo 144 my dad bought new in 1970 is still going about in Edinburgh. Or it was a couple of years ago when I was behind it in traffic. Yellow with a black vinyl roof no less.

Nice but wrong interior, EIII. Management have decreed a light coloured interior only. She was watching Phil and Kirstie last night, and cooing over Phil's white leather interior in his horrible black BMW SUV.
I'd stretch to £5k for the right car, but that isn't it I'm afraid. It's a LOT of money for a 12 year old 9-5, whatever the mileage.
I'm going off the idea of he Outback above - like XC70s they seem to be heavy on their suspension components and expensive to fix. When you look at the MOT history of just about any Outback it's littered with fails and advisories on suspension components. I love this new MOT checking website.

In my searches on Autotrader for petrol, automatic estates, there are loads of Skoda Fabias. Wonder why?

I'd have thought it'd have been worth a bit in spares, it was 100% rust free and original, but nobody in the UK was interested, even for free (plus shipping, of course). I were disappoint. I had a 2CV when I was living in the middle of nowhere in Portugal and commuting to the beach, I was a surf instructor. I loved and have really wanted another. Though this one is a fairly unpleasant green.

A nice trip out. Annual Tax is £305! If you end up going to Coleraine, have a night at the Roe Park in Limavady. Only about £70 for a very nice room. Popular with golfists though (if that's a problem ) Drive back to Dublin and get the Stena to Holyhead. Might even be fun.

People who have Skodas mostly can't help telling you that they are really Volkswagens or even Audis. Which of course they sort of are. But they seem to have to tell you as much as possible.
