So, no comment on the rugby? [snigger] Yes. Bollocks.
But at least I was there, and had lots of lovely ale, and rissole, chips and curry sauce for tea. Tidy.
I now hope the English give you a pasting.
1) Bastard. 2) I don't think they will. I think we'll win, but if we don't I am pretty sure it won't be a pasting. 3) You'll be able to do much more stirring with that wooden spoon that you're soon to have.

If I was in the UK I'd have that. Perfect for #1 daughter (16 last week). In fact, perfectly perfect, I wish such a thing was available here.

>>I have my orders. I'm not after eco-points. I'm after fulfilling the wife's idea of eco-points. These are totally different matters, not necessarily based on reality.
You have my total 100% support and understanding. I know *exactly* where you are.

I really have a lot of fun in older cars. I like cars with character. I am in the final stages of acquiring a truly knackered old 2CV. I will adore it. Though I probably won't drive it up in the hills.

Had to be, didn't it? I always thought the Legacy was the nice Subaru, but I've never driven either on UK roads. Fuel economy - or the lack of it - always ruled it out as a sensible choice here. But then, what has sensible got to do with this? 🙄
In the course of this daftness I've discovered a use for the 'force click' feature of my new iPhone. And I've noticed Lygo's first car is a Legacy Outback, not the Forester I mistook it for.

My 2008 Forester 2.5 turbo managed 25-27mpg mixed driving.
Not great but comparable to most 250bhp petrol cars of the day.
Have driven the Legacy spec B with same 3.0 litre engine as above but 6-speed manual.
The "spec B" stands for Bilstein as Subaru were pretty chuffed with its handling.
It is a really sweet machine, but 20mpg is the target on those!

IIRC tyres are 215/45x18 which at the time were very rare (same as the fronts on a Ferrari 360 I think) and mega-pricey - quick check on blackcircles shows ~£110-120 for mid-range and ~£140 for premium tyres now.

That last one rather stylishly hands the decorator his hat, don't you think?

I really dislike that Vectra, simply because it is so dull to look at both internally and externally. However, the engine and kit intrigues me sufficiently that for the occasional longer trip with no more than 5,000 miles pa it might be a possibility...
I'd want to pay no more than £3,500 though..

Vauxhall should be cheaper to fix than a Subaru or Saab when it goes inevitably wrong?

If you are searching for 10-year old reliable petrol estates, then surely something Japanese is a better bet? Avensis? Or maybe better, a Mazda 6?

Ha ha. Alonovic got rid of the Mazda 6 petrol and got the electric car. He might not want another so soon.

‘Used at weekends for pleasure’, and it’s pictured in an otherwise deserted park with one other car. Take wet wipes. And gloves. Better still, don’t go at all.
Always hated the X-type. Not for its Mondeo origins - platform sharing is just fine if the platform is good enough - but for its fake, fussy, tweedy Ye Olde Englishe Jaguare-ness. And then to put it in hi-top Nikes and a reversed baseball cap like this all-black ‘Sport’ one just adds to the absurdity. Surely a car for the Ukip voter, on his way to a fight in a car park.
Incidentally, Esp, is that your address that the link reveals?
