>>Good God no to the Jogger. Just no. Hang on a cotton pickin’ minute! You tried to get me to have one of those when they first came out. I mean, yes, they’re preposterous of course and I wouldn’t have one, but for the likes of, well you know, others, they might make sense… 😉 I don't have the urge to carry countless filthy bicycles in my car. I think a Jogger would suit you. I don't fancy one for myself, though.

In 2027 that Honda, with regular servicing, will still be sewing machine smooth. That 1.5 TSi on the otherhand has well documented issues, kangarooing, oil consumption, timing chain failure, AVT failure. I can see the interior space improvement, struggling with the reliability side of the argument I must admit. That Skoda will be out of warranty in October 2025. What's an AVT? I'm looking at a 2022 car, these engines were launched in 2017. Kangarooing was a software problem, now resolved. I'm not buying a taxi here, it's going to do 5-6k miles a year over 4 years. I'm pretty confident the timing chain and gearbox aren't going to fail in that time. Oil consumption not an issue I've heard about, so I'll look it up. But again, if there was a problem in early engines, it must have been rectified by 2022 production. EDIT: Cursory internet search shows the engine consumes 1l per 10k miles. Which is loads less than my 2.0 petrol Mazda 6 used to consume. All petrol engines will consume some oil, I'd just keep an eye on levels, as normal.

A neighbour has one of those Joggers and indeed a C4 Picasso. Nice enough guy if a bit weird. Probably works in IT I should think. You know the sort… 😉

The cheapest automatic Jogger on Autotrader is £1.5k more than the Superb I'm going to look at. Also performance figures are 138bhp, 106 torques. Which is why it's a no from me, Simon.

Clever roof rails on a Jogger apparently. They swivel. Who wouldn’t want that eh?

Indeed, sounds like a must have. It's the lack of torques which is putting me off, though.

Fair enough. I don’t want one either. 😉

That's a jolly handsome thing, but too many miles and too much leather for my tastes. I bought an E Class with 100k miles on it once before...
