£10.92 per annum increase on insurance for the Superb v Civic.
Finance sorted, collection Saturday. Now to rummage all the Civic's nooks and crannies for 10p pieces etc.

Guess if you can find £11.00 worth of them you’re up already. 😉

I left a contact lens in the CLS. Always kept some spares in the car and this one slipped below the plastic insert in the centre compartment, where I could see it but bring nothing to bear on it to get it out.
Didn’t need to find coins as my insurance went down from old car to new. 😛
Was the £10.92 for the premium alone or is there an admin fee in that too?

I have a friend who gave up smoking in the mid 1980s. He has an unopened packet of Benson and Hedges that he has kept in the glovebox of every car he’s had since then “just in case he has a nicotine crisis”. They would of course be totally unsmokable now and have been for decades, but he is comforted by their presence. He hasn’t smoked anything ever since he stopped, but has superstitiously convinced himself that if he ever disposes of that pack that he’ll be tempted.

Have you had a run out in the new car Al, or are you waiting to have the meter fitted first? 😈

Just ordered this. What do you charge in yours, £30 seem reasonable?

Continuing the airport parking thing, because this is where we were talking about it, I dropped my family off at Luton last Wednesday, using the £5 Express Drop Off thing. Only I forgot to pay, and I just realised this morning. Damn. Well, I haven't received a fine yet, so I thought I'd see if there's anyone I can call to beg forgiveness, and pay up. And whaddaya know, I found a number, called a nice lady, and she said no fine has yet been issued and if I make a payment using yesterday's date, she'll make sure it gets allocated to my visit last week. So there are nice people left in the world, nice companies, and a modicum of customer service around. Well done, APCOA Parking.

Surprising. APCOA were awful at Luton when we tried to contact them to change a car on a pre-booked parking.

How long ago was that? This is an all new system at Luton, the drop off zone is brand new and work is continuing around it with new roads and multi-storeys going in. Unrecognisable. Maybe they've had a change of approach and staff etc with the new set up.
I just looked at the Short Stay car park prices though, bloody hell. £17 for an hour. I think I'll be using the Express Pick Up on Wednesday night when I collect them, but getting the timing right is a pain because you never know how quickly your passengers will come through after landing.

Ah - it was December 2022 I think.
I suppose what with the fire etc, they have changed their methods...
Must admit I recall after the fire when Espadrilles car was 'trapped', I did find a mobile number and the eastern European lady was able to give me a lot more information than anyone else about the location of the car.

Ah yes I'd forgotten you were caught up in that "EV" fire Maybe they've just got a better IT system in place now. Lady on the phone couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Credit where due.
