Don't be tempted with free Lucozade. It will look like Carling and taste like Budweiser, probably.

As but a humble pensioner, if I start saving now and only eat every other day between now and the trip, I should just about manage to scrape together enough to pay for the parking. However, any forthcoming financial assistance would be very much appreciated… 😉

Can be found in a layby on the A4 Colnbrook Bypass, as discussed.

Just out of curiosity, had a quick look at the list price of new Superbs. Was surprised to see that a manual gearbox isn't an option any more, even on the the cheapest models. Well, when I say cheapest I mean £35k. Oof.

Yes, with the luxury car price fixed at £40k there aren't many family cars which don't hit the premium VED rate.
Can't get a fast Golf with manual transmission. Clutches will soon be confined to diff, mHev starters and aircon compressor duties.

I know you'll enjoy it because mine was really really good. Boot of course is huge. I spec'd mine as I wanted so nearly L&K spec but an SEL Executive and the more economical 1.4T rather than the 2.0T. Huge difference for company car tax.
So I had rear wipe, adaptive dampers, folding door mirrors, upgraded HID's, speed detection via camera, lane keep assist, park assist, etc. etc. Quite a few options and the list price probably close to the L&K but BIK was much much lower.
Also if you drive the 2.0T it's not much quicker off the mark unless you put it into Sport mode. It blunts performance to keep emissions down. Put it in sport then it is a lot quicker. 150PS is fine with 250Nm torque.
Enjoy.

Humph - I assume that in the past you have flown from Manchester a lot where they rip you off for drop off and arrival greeting. Heathrow is probably no more expensive, for a larger, busier airport where the real estate is much more valuable.

Oddly enough, I’ve probably flown from Heathrow way more often than from Manchester, but I’ve nearly always made my own way there and left the car there rather than dropping anyone off or meeting them. Come to think, I’ve not been on an aeroplane for nearly a year now, which is a stark contrast to how things used to be for me. Don’t miss it mind you, not even slightly! 😎

Nice car Al! Did you get the trade-in price you hoped/expected for the Honda?
Happy that you’re happy! 😊

The trade in matched WBAC, so although it's lower than a private sale it's hassle free, which is worth the difference to me. Sales bloke had the cheek to say they'd offer more for it, were it grey rather than red. Inconceivable.
