BMW 5 series estate would definitely be a very nice option.

So, what do we reckon? Been to see the Superb.
Did he, or didn't he? I expect if you try to click the link to the advert you might well guess the answer...

You went to check the boot space and the tailgate came off in your hand?
Wait, silly of me. That wouldn’t happen till after you’d bought it. 😫

Which one is it that you may or may not have bought?

Silver, 1.5 TSI DSG, SE spec, 7k miles on the clock, 72 reg. 2 years warranty, servicing and MOTs included - all Approved Used bell and whistles. 4 nearly new Michelin Primacy tyres fitted, which almost makes up for me losing the new Cross Climates on the Civic. Advert now removed. This 'un: Drives absolutely beautifully, no concerns whatsoever about the gearbox. Drives better than a TC auto in all respects. Really, really well sorted. Instant pick up in town, imperceptible gear changes. Did an extensive test drive including the nearest thing to a French motorway incline in our immediate area, the A404(M) Bisham to Handy Cross. 7 gears is a huge improvement on the 5 in the Civic. Loads of shove, no worries at all. Smooth and quiet. Diesel like torque and motorway performance without the noise, filth and AdBlue. Double the rear legroom of the Civic with the front passenger seat set to Mrs A position. A peach of a vehicle.

Well, a peach is way preferable to a lemon I suppose! Enjoy!

Hope you enjoy it, Al.
Out of interest what are the recommended oil change intervals for that gearbox? As I previously mentioned it's 3 years or 37,500 miles for Ford Powershift. The gearbox oil change I just had done on my Focus cost 600€ for the oil change. So much smoother now, instant pull and much cheaper than a new gearbox.

40k miles irrespective of age, is the recommendation. I think I'll do one in 2 years time regardless.

Hope it works well for you. A likeable car, and Approved Used is a good start.

Might it need a cambelt at some point? Probably not on miles for a good while yet I suppose. The Feep needed one at 5 years old despite being low mileage. Wasn’t too steamy, I want to think it was about £350 or so.

Recommendation is 140k miles, or 15 years.

It was outside, but the neighbours thought it was the Uber they’d ordered and forced the driver to take them to the station… 😈
