....Sheffield.... Often compared to Rome as they are both built on seven hills. The comparison stops there

Very wise. The Vatican isn't a patch on Meadowhall...

Oh that's how you spell it?
I always thought it was a place called Medderall.

There used to be an excellent Italian restaurant on the LHS of Ecclesall Road heading out of town. Pricey, but one of the few places in Sheffield that knew how to cook a lobster without cremating it.

Let’s hope the lobsters haven’t escaped.

...except that lobsters, being bottom-dwellers, don’t float. 🤓

....I can assure you, with the contents of the River Don, they will float.....
...(if they don't dissolve first)......
Lobsters that are cooked (and not cremated) will float.

I once got food poisoning from a dodgy lobster in Greece. Can't look at one now.

Anyway, I'm off to Shrewsbury today. Still can't quite get a definitive answer on whether it should be Shroo or Shrow. Life can be a challenge sometimes.

I suspect it's Shroo if you're local, Shrow if you're not. A bit like locals saying Marlborough (pronounced as spelt) and outsiders Mawlborough (and the school is always Mawlborough).

Shroo/Shrow - I've been told different sides of the town say it differently. East/West or North/South divide or something.
Anyway, Gay Meadow.

It’ll be interesting to hear what the sat nav wifey calls it when I get nearer. She’s German.
