I won’t be buying it. It’s another ‘project’ car that needs bodywork attention. And it’s an automatic, of course, which rules it out as a practice car.
Very pretty, though. It’s from the period when it was a Nice Thing that I was aware of but couldn’t afford, a few of which I’m allowing myself now.

A daughter of some friends who moved to Israel a few months ago left her car outside our house whilst she visited her parents. It is a 2009 Peugeot 207 and has been there for seven weeks underneath a tree.
Last Friday I decided to get rid of the bird poo, pump up the tyres and give it a general check over in anticipation of her return. Firstly the battery was almost dead, so I had to jump it. Then I managed to get it up our drive, give it a good once over with the jetwash which took some time and then pumped the tyres. I then gave it a good run up the motorway. I do love those cars. It's not a left field choice; its the best choice!
But I do love that brown Merc for me.....

Enjoyed that vid, Humph. Particularly liked the disparaging comment about the Mercedes Pick-Up they encountered...I'll seek out more of their material.

That’s an oddly handsome car, I’ve always thought. Maybe it’s my early-80s personal sweet spot again, but the 300 somehow made the leap in mid-life from ugly-duckling slowcoach 340 to poised and stylish 360. Perhaps this was Volvo finishing the job of bringing it in-house, without the Daf parts.
I’ve never driven one. Won’t be buying that one, but I do like it.
