I'm sorry for your suffering.

Fortunately, she still loves it. And, I have to admit that I still like it too. Cheers me up for some reason.

Denial is a powerful drug.

It may well be an intoxicant, but I’d define it more as infatuation than denial.
I’d quite like one of my own, as would my son, but having three of them would be a bit weird, well a lot weird in truth.

They’d love it at the caravan club. Do you also have matching fleeces with your names embroidered on them? 😈

Does yours have the wolf imagery on the spare tyre cover, Humph? You know, howling at the moon?

Don’t not even have a caravan.
Thank goodness.

Shiny shiny. For the time being.

It’s not as ugly as I’d imagined I suppose. I mean, it’s not pretty either, but it’s, y’know, ok. 😬

As handsome and stylish as the day it left the factory.

Just Enough Essential Parts. I had a thought the other night about getting a Soul for me when the lease is up on the Focus, came to the same "bit weird" conclusion.
I've still got 18 months to think about it though, if I want an EV, I might have to order the replacement car in summer 2022 for delivery summer 2023. The issue I've got switching to EV is the 40k+€ difference between keeping the petrol car I've got and getting a car I will only cover about 7,000kms/year in. 40k€ buys an awful lot of petrol even at inflated prices and any EV I buy in 2023 will need replacing in 2035 before I retire. As the current plans are to allow hybrids until 2035 then petrol is going to be available until then by which time the Focus would be 15 years old and ready for replacement anyway.
Much as I like driving a BEV I'm not sure it's 40k€ better or worth of improvement and I've already got access to a BEV if I need it.
I had thought about just handing the Focus back and reverting to the Volvo and hiring an estate car when I need one but the horror stories you read about some hire companies puts me off going that route. I've found you need to be as picky at collection as you know they are going to be when you hand it back which is not the way I want to operate. Life is really to short for all that guff.

Against my better judgement I took him on a couple of practice sessions over the weekend, around our local business park. He picked things up pretty quickly and on the second day we were up to 30 in third and negotiating roundabouts, t-junctions, right turns and some very light traffic. I'm just waiting for him to be returned home from his first instructor lesson as I type this, hopefully having had a couple of sessions with me has saved a bit of time for the instructor on the very basics.
Realised the front wiper blades were split over the weekend, and the replacements have just arrived by post (Michelins, believe it or not, were the cheapest I could find on wiperblades.co.uk), so I shall hand them to him and say "your car, fix it!". He's gone with RED driving school, and I think they're running newish Renault Clios.
Hang on, he's just gone past the window! Yep a black 5-door 17 plate Clio. It's on black steel wheels so maybe winter tyres fitted. Which is reassuring if so.
All very exciting.

Well there aren't any convertible Clios anyway.

They’re the ones without a lift up collar on the gear lever aren’t they? 🤔
