Same car as the universally lauded Peugeot 306 in essence.

If you’re 14 and subsist on a diet of fighty Japanese carton strips, maybe.

Crumbs, I must be 14 then because I'd rather like that for myself.

SWMBOs best schoolfriend's husband (are you following this?) is as we speak divesting himself of one of these.......except it's a Lancia, so presumably LHD, and not either of those above. He's actually (nicely) doing up an ageing Lancia Fulvia (which I've had the guided tour of, but the Ypsilon was elsewhere), and I think got bitten by the Lancia bug. I got the guided tour after telling him one of my late-departed climbing friends had run a Lancia Fulvia HF coupe for some years.

Yeah, I used to get those as renters in Italy a lot ( Lancia badged ) they're ok actually.

Indeed. They are jolly cheap for fairly new cars. I liked the rental one I had in Sardinia, it's a FIAT 500/Ford Ka in disguise, no? With the bonus of 5 doors. Fitted a family of 4 plus a week's luggage with ease.

I’d have one if it was a Lancia. Chrysler is too redolent of the Neon and the PT Cruiser for comfort.

I expect you could chisel the Chrysler badge off and replace it with a genuine aftermarket Lancia one off eBay 😉

I just fail to comprehend the difference it makes. It is only the badge which is different. The image of the PT and the Neon, if a problem at all, would be lost on a yoof I expect. Swap the badges for Lancia ones maybe.

Yeah, I wouldn't do that, might as well just have "knob" in chrome lettering instead.

Swap the badges for Lancia ones maybe. It's funny how cars look the same and are the same save for the badge Opel & Vauxhall, Lancia & Chrysler, VW & SEAT/Skoda/Audi yet individual parts which are shared vary hugely and people pay for what they think they're getting. The one that always sticks in my mind is the seatbelt floor mounted locking mechanism for a FIAT Cinquecento and Lamborghini Murcielago were the same. For the FIAT it was less than a tenner, mucho wonga for the Lamborghini, it was probably cheaper to buy a Cinquecento as a donor car than visit the Lamborghini garage.
