My daughter is 14, she'd laugh her socks off at anyone picking her up in a Corolla or Jetta.
Badge doesn't bother her, speed matters. Different generation from these beige, ganzied college grads of today.
She realises she's of a generation that may never be legally allowed to drive on a public highway for very many years and is therefore determined to make the most of it. Already decided a moped is not for her. It's a motorbike or nothing at all.

As this is a family show, I wasn't going to mention that, but yes, that's what she said when she saw the Maxi. Actually we never did use it like that: even though the HL model had velour upholstery, it never looked very comfortable in that formation.
It made a very good van, though. I remember getting most of the equipment for an orchestra in there - although never an organ. Make of that what you will, Humph.....

S40 Volvos in either model were good steady cars. I do like the dark blue newer model. But the 1999 may have more space.
Somehow I wish I had the time to buy something like the 1999 one, keep it for six months and move it on for no loss.
