Good choice, Humph. Pleased with the CrossClimates on the Leaf. Shoulda bit the bullet and got some (or similar) for the Civic too, when I need a pair earlier this year.

The Jeep has Michelin somethings on it too. Not Crossclimates, but both cars seem to run “smoothly” on them. Like good shoes I suppose! 😉

I made a point of looking at the tyres on the owners car I was at on Thursday. He has an older Mercedes E class saloon pre the four headlight rusters, must be 25+ years old.
Four Michelin tyres fitted. I was curious whether he went for budget tyres. Given he runs a tyre business there's probably little difference between budget and premium tyres for him.

Not sure why I’m posting this here, or indeed why anyone would be interested, but I spotted a car on Autotrader over the weekend that was a similar age and model as mine. 348,000 miles on it, probably been a taxi I’d think. Advertised at £6500 or thereabouts. Mad world at the moment eh? Quite encouraging though if it’s anything to go by on reliability etc. At that rate, I could get another 7 years out of mine.
Edit- just seen another one, 352,000 for £7300!

Trigger's Broom is still a broom, with some inherent value.
So you were on Autotrader, eh? FIAT 124 Spider incoming?

No, it’s just a bad habit I’m afraid.

Same here. Hence my occasional outbursts of lunacy.

Does make me think though, even if mine needed surgery at some point, which no doubt it will, it might just still be worth the effort/expense.

There are currently 18 Audi RS3 Cat S cars ranging from 2016 and newer starting at around £25k up to £38k advertised on Autotrader.
Cat S is damage to the integral structure of the car.
Some brave people out there desperate to be seen in certain cars.

Well, it’s only a theory of course, but I do sometimes wonder if there is a measurable correlation between Audi drivers and limited IQ… It would be interesting to also know if they had a higher propensity to Neanderthal genes. Probably a a red herring, but it could form the basis of an at least fairly plausible hypothesis. 😉

Not sufficiently familiar with the range to tie it to specific models but my neighbour opposite, mid seventies, with an A3 is sharp as a tack. Q or S variants OTOH......

The Mini had a slow puncture on one, fairly new, rear tyre which was repaired at my local garage. I asked them to check the fronts, as I knew they were geting close to needing replacement. They said they needed sorting before the end of winter so I got them to order two new tyres in and I took the car in today to get them fitted. In the interim I noticed that the right front would tramp away at times, either when going very slowly at full lock, or in the wet away from the line.
Well, I am glad I ordered new tyres! The right front has a strip about one inch wide and six inches long which was down to the cord whereas the remainder of the width and circumference was at 3+mm. Don't know what has happened, and my polymer knowledge is not recent or detailed enough to hazard a guess other than there was some occlusion in the rubber mix which caused it to strip away.

Parked it anywhere kind of hot recently? 😬

Good point. Don't think so. Besides vulcanised rubber should not melt away but it could burn; not that I noticed any odd smell.
