It was a joke question - odds were in City's favour for sure,

I don't know. I guess if advertising didn't increase smoking then the manufacturers wouldn't want to advertise, if you see what I mean. However, many years ago when I was consulting at Philip Morris the advertising was directed at taking people away from other brands, not on increasing the overall smoking audience. That was the official line of Big Tobacco for years while resisting innovations such as health warnings, plain packets and keeping the packets behind closed doors. Like others here I've never been a smoker but I knew that Players No6 were not classy but Rothmans might just be. Consulate was a lady's brand and men who smoked them might be regarded as effeminate. In my mind there are plenty of things which are harmful to the point that if invented now they'd struggle to ever be legal. Alcohol and tobacco for starters. Do you allow those things to promote harmful activity via sport's sponsorship? We seem to have agreed as a society that the answer is no. If gambling were limited to betting on sporting outcomes I'd have fewer reservations. The harmful stuff is on the terminals in the bookies shops or on line; it really wrecks lives.

Finally.....
Remember when you went away as a child overseas and told people you were from England and the response was 'Manchester United' or 'Bobby Charlton'.
Today I was on a Zoom call with a client from Luxembourg. We have not seen each other face to face for about four years and we have been trying since a year ago to meet up in his office. Various Covid related reasons meant we cancelled three times; which is a shame as we both really like malt whisky and I usually try to get him a bottle of something interesting and (shock) not Scottish. Today he said that we really must meet up, maybe I will come to you and I will go to the stadium with you...
Colleagues on the call (United fans) were eager to hear which stadium he wanted to visit. After winding them up a bit he came down on the side of sense and said he wanted to see City play at home when new signing Erling Haaland plays.
Our reputation as an international team is growing...

Looking at the fixtures list for 22/23 I can't see any team pushing for the treble or quadruple. The PL have really hamstrung the English teams.
10 league games or more than 25% of the total 38 games to be played in April and May. Add in FA Cup quarters, semis and final plus CL semis and final will be too much for any squad I suspect.

The City squad hasn't been the largest in the last two seasons so I'm sure what with a few injuries, it will be a real mash up.

Meh, Esp! The big 3-4 teams have deep pockets, they’ll just buy more players as and when. All starting to become a bit boring now, regrettably.

They can't buy as and when. Transfer windows prevent that. Buying in January is a risk, many transfers then don't work out, kind of distress purchasing. The main purchases are now until the window closes in August.

Is it only buying players from other football companies that’s limited to these windows? Or is the entire squad frozen so that even new home-grown players can’t be introduced at other times?
Coincidentally, our cricket league also has transfer rules. A player is allowed one club-to-club move a year, with a cut-off date in late July to prevent manipulation in the final weeks of the season. Look carefully and you might catch the breathless headlines scrolling across the screen of Sky Sports Cricket at 4am on Deadline Friday.

Any player who is not under an existing contract to another club can be signed at any time.

Telegraph reckons the most important signing this summer so far has not been Haaland to City, but Salah re-signing for Liverpool.
City losing Jesus, Sterling and possibly Bernardo makes me nervous.
