Subarus are plastic. At least all the models we get in the UK are.
Is it brown?

Al, you are so right.
It's a Forester. And it is overwhelmingly plastic. Cheap shit plastic at that. Picked it up. Drove home. Thought about it for 10 minutes. Took it back. Don't even want to play with it.
The engine was pretty lively, I almost planted it up the bum of a bus in the first 500yards, but it's just such a horrible place to be. Hard seats, hard leather. Lots of black plastic, all of it cheap. The small centre console thing was probably rejected by a 1980s Skoda. Everything is black, including the leather seats and carpets.
*This* is what people have been raving about all these years? Never had one. Don't think I have ever driven one before. I shall certainly never have one in the future.
Nasty. just nasty.
He's going to bring me down a Dodge Durango this afternoon. Apparently he's sure I'm going to love it.
I have my doubts.

Humph,
>>It has one of those CVT gearboxes doesn't it
Yes, it does. And I am undecided. From what I have read it seems to have a horrible reputation for reliability, but I can't make up what I think of it. I guess you'd have to drive the same model car, one with a CVT and the other with a traditional auto to know for sure.
I can't make up my mind whether it's that I don't like it or I'm just finding it so different.

Durangos are huge, but probably plastic too. The missus went on a business trip to Yankee country once and booked an economy class hire car, you know "Focus or similar" type thing. Got given a Durango and nearly fainted when she saw the size of it. Not for the first time.
Anyway, is it brown?

I imagine your wife was shocked at the size of it being used to things being much smaller than promised, rather than much bigger.
I don't think a Durango is *that* big.
The Forester was [is] white. S'got a CVT as well, apparently. That and garlic bread, it's the future.

He's going to bring me down a Dodge Durango this afternoon.......... ...and, following the trend of the other current thread, why does Dodge Durango sound ok(-ish), but Dodge Dudley (go on, you have to think it in the accent) is just a "no!"...
