Oh, and stuff is voice controlled. In Spanish. And not my accent (which is Brazilian). We *really* are not going to be friends. Of course it doesn't recognise you if you speak in Brazilian. That's Portugese.... But you knew that

Funnily enough I speak Serbo-Croat with a Russian accent, so I empathise with Otto. When I visit former YU countries and clumsily engage with interlocutors, I can see them trying to square the ginger hair, unusual ability to speak their language (very rare in foreigners for them) and the Russian accent.

Reminds me of a cousin in Israel who was born after her Polish born grandma came to live with the family after the death of grandpa. However, Grandpa (who was English) and Grandma had lived in Sheffield for 50+ years. So cousin now speaks English with an Israeli/Polish/Yorkshire accent. Most bizarre how each word comes out in a different accent.

It is, I'll grant, something of a fading memory...

Funny, some memories fade and some shine brighter. I have my fair share of both.
Most of the Brazilian ones shine pretty brightly.

I expect you could get some ointment for that.

As danced on Strictly....
Espada, wasn't there a Presodent of Israel who did his degree at Queen's University, Belfast, and thereafter spoke English with a broad Ulster accent. It might have been Abba Eban, although I may be wrong there.

Abba Eban (Aubrey) was not a president but Foreign Minister I think. There was a President who was Irish. Herzog. He father had been Chief Rabbi of Ireland.
Going off the top of head there, as I'm away, but I have been to a synagogue dedicated to both of them. (father and son).

Well, I still don't like it and I am certainly not taking into the mountains, but it's not a bad city and suburban car, I suppose.
It's quite well equipped with technology and quite comfortable after 3 days of dicking around with the seat position. At least it's got memory seats which also remember the position of the steering wheel and mirrors.
Whilst the passenger space feels quite spacious the boot is not. Verging on the titchy. Quite a few pockets and bins, in the passenger space though.
It's quite lively, though with a 3.5 V6 you'd hope it would be, but I'm not struck on the gearbox. I can't put my finger on what it is, but it's uncomfortable, or perhaps unfamiliar. Or something. It delivers the power well enough, but it doesn't deliver a kick to the bum, which you'd sort of think it should.
All in all, if you just do motorways and suburbs, you'd probably quite like it. It's ok.
Anyway, I've been whining about it so much that a mate of mine, head of the local Subaru dealer, tells me he's got something I'll like. No idea what it is, and never actually owned a Subaru I don't think, which makes it interesting, so I shall go and pick it up tomorrow and see what it is and what I think of it. Probably be a bloody three-wheeler.
Surely I'll like it more than this thing.

If it's got the 3.0 flat six you'll love it, even the ugly 7 seat Tribeca.
