I've just entered this thread and I am very confused? ? A small caravan for gender undecided cyclists towed by a somewhat unsure of itself Mercedes? Think I'll go back to the Mediterranean sun.

The reality of being able to park a caravan almost anywhere and go off an pursue your pastime is somewhat different to the rose-coloured advertising hype. What? Next you'll be telling me my car journeys won't all be through the twilight along an empty, sinuous coast road, to be greeted at a beach house with improbably large windows by a blonde with improbably large... Worked for me . I bought a string of them in that era. Mind you, at about the two minute mark, look at that crap handling....

Quite a few mountain bikers have Transit / Transporter type vans kitted out as mobile workshops and often also with rudimentary sleeping / cooking facilities. Usually perfectly plain on the outside so as not to draw attention to the often thousands of pounds worth of bikes and other gear stashed in them.
I quite like the awning idea though for my car. That could, on a summer night anyway, provide enough shelter for a bit of wild camping I suppose.

Holy thread resurrection Batman!
And so it came to pass, the time has arrived, A swift basecamp will be arriving on my Drive this coming Saturday. I tootled up to Barrow upon Soar last Saturday, and have done a deal with a private owner, on a second hand (4 months old) 2020 Swift Basecamp with plus pack. I now have to decide what graphic to put on the rear door and what name it will carry. (it has a name now, but....)
No-where to take it at the mo of course, so I'll have lots of time to delve into what colour bog fluid is best.

Secondhand caravan, eh? Just be sure to wipe all the hard surfaces. COVID-19 is the least of your worries.

He'll be getting all excited about awnings soon. They all do. They buy a caravan and then before you know it, it's awnings. Mark my words.
