Just been poking around a Superb estate. Neighbour got a new one on Friday and was showing it to me. Didn't want to like it. But it is a very well equipped thing and it's difficult to fault. My favourite toy on the one he has is a concealed tow bar that emerges when you pull on a switch thingy in the boot. He's a senior manager at Bentley and he gets a new car every 4 months, anything he wants (from a given list of VAG cars) so it really doesn't matter much if he decides he doesn't like it !

Yes I thought the tow-bar was cleverly done. Probably the same in other VW group cars.
The SE L Executive is really well equipped and the L&K even more so. To spec and Audi A4 to similar spec would cost a lot. I'm not sure I like the new 9.2" sat nav screen without physical buttons. But Ill have to get used to it.

Yes I thought the tow-bar was cleverly done. Probably the same in other VW group cars. The electrically retractable tow bar is not unique to the Skoda, or even the VAG or even a standard fitting. Its is in fact one made by an outside vendor, and available for most new cars as an extra feature. I am considering one for the BM, not for towing anything, but for fitting a bike carrier.

Yep. MB has offered one for years, first hand-cranked through a socket in the boot floor, latterly electric. The option price is similar to an indy-fit detachable like mine. Might even use ours more than once a year if it was that convenient.

If you're specing an electric retractable towbar you may have to forfeit any spare wheel option as it usually goes into the same space.

I wasn't being manufacturer or model specific. I know with the Ford Galaxy it's one or the other. No idea for BMW or VAG products.
Just to make people aware if a spare wheel is available and selected you may not have the option of an electric retractable towbar.
