Our lease scheme at work doesn't let us have pickup trucks so I wouldn't have the chance to save on BIK. Not sure I'd want one although the VW Amarok might be more car like.
So I ordered the car that would suit Humph instead albeit a hatchback version. Skoda Superb.

If I were him, ( the guy with the van and 43 kids that is ) I'd have had a vasectomy before such a thing became necessary. Poor sod.

A Skoda Superb estate would work very well for me. Trouble is, I just don't think I'd ever really like it. It'd be a bit like wearing Marks and Spencers jeans, no doubting the quality and value sort of thing but, y'know, well, of course you know. There are things a man simply can't do and still feel totally at peace with the world. 😬
Edit - "I've booked us a table at your favourite restaurant darling, you know at that lovely country house hotel where we had "that" weekend? Shall we take the Skoda?"
Y'see, doesn't work does it?

I think what puts me off Skoda and the new Volvo S90 are what look like origami paper folds in the boot lids. A crease on a formal suit is fine, a car should have curves IMO. From this concept To this Anyone buying a Tourneo Connect should have to buy a red one and have a black and white cat to keep them company.

I would rather have some of your spare wasps and needles inserted where the sun doesn't shine than have to do 40,000 miles a year in a Ford Tourneo.

I think the VW Group (starting with Audi) started to use the creases in metal to show how accurate and precise their manufacturing processes were. So you have a line across the wing meet with creases in the door and all the way to the rear of the car. An line from front to rear lights. To get all that to line up takes precision. And of course the hot forming presses for the metalwork.
I quite like the sharp creases... well I must because they are on the Audi A3 I have and the Superb I'll get next.

People iron creases into Marks and Spencers jeans. 😉

Y'see, doesn't work does it? .....I'm just wondering, in your case (being Scotch), whether it is the first part or the second part of that paragraph that doesn't work........?

Depends.
If there's a two for one deal on, then it's a no brainer...

That reads no worse than 'shall we take the Mondeo?' (which you probably did "that" weekend).
I suppose that if I needed a big diesel estate, I'd take a £30k 190 bhp Superb over a £35k 150 bhp Mercedes, but, yes, I'd have a Mercedes E350 over either if I could afford it.
