Did the C3 have the bubble wrap doors? I quietly like those. Not sure why, or indeed if I should be admitting it. But, I'm 60 now so I can do what I like I suppose... 😜

Think I'd better wait a bit longer for that. Are they comfortable?

Did the C3 have the bubble wrap doors? Are you referring to the previous model C4 Cactus?

There may be a need, especially in Cheshire, for bubble-wrapped door mirrors.

I did discover, by reading a Qashqai owners forum, ( yes I know, but I was very bored at the time ) that quite a lot of Qashqais have had their mirrors damaged. Seems that they are coincidentally set at the same height as Transit vans, which does tally with some of my wife's excuses.

It was the same generation of C3 as in Humph's picture, but my C3 did not have bubble wrap. Which is weird, given that it would be a very handy feature on a hire car in Spain. It did have a damaged hub cap, which was marked on the pre-collection inspection sheet. Have you rented a C3 from Malaga recently, Humph?

Judging from what I see on transporters, Audis have similar padding on the doors. But Audi’s quality clearly isn’t up to Citroën’s, because it always seems to have fallen off by the time the car hits the road.

I think mine must have been low spec, what with it having no alloys. Didn't feel like that inside though, had cruise control and all that. Very comfy seats in that way that only Citroen seem able to do. Handled nicely, and I enjoyed its low power, wringing out as much performance as possible form the little petrol 1.2. Hopelessly gutless on even slight motorway inclines though. Thought it was broken to start with. Roomy inside and felt much bigger than it actually was. Quite impressed overall, would make a good little runaround car.

I like the look of the new C3. It's different in a cuddly way that isn't 'in yer face'.
Espadrille test drove a C3 Aircross before she bought the Mini. I thought it a nice car, with a lovely lolloping ride that Citroen's should have.

Yes, the C3 rode very nicely for a cheap little car. I'd forgotten that I used to be a big Citroen fan, but I haven't had one since my GSA many moons ago. I considered a C5 estate when we bought the Merc, but I couldn't find one to our spec (auto) which didn't look like it had been permanently inhabited by 25 French farmers all its life. I like the look of the DS5 but I am given to believe the traditional Citroen ride is missing, what with them trying to grab the Audi S-Line market, which calls for rock hard rides and silly wheels, so that people can think they're Lewis Hamilton/Posh Spice on the way to work in Slough. Sigh.

There's a new Peugeot 508 estate coming out in 2019. Looks great in the press photos. If it's as nice in the metal I could be tempted. Back in the dark ages I had a Peugeot 406 which I became very fond of at the time, but they've not done anything since that floated my boat. I had a Xantia too back along, very nice when it was going, not that it had major faults, but it did have lots of niggly electrical ones. Ate headlamp bulbs for a pastime for example. Odd driving position too, never could quite get comfortable in it.
