I'm sat here in the dark, electricity went off half an hour ago. The whole area is blacked out. Smartmeter panel blank. Must be waiting for the sun to come up, the wind to start blowing again or electricity delivery drivers have gone on strike. 😁
Could be worse, i could have been charging my car to get to work in the morning. 😈

There were thunderstorms around here yesterday but no electricity disruptions. In fact, I can’t remember when we last had one — probably not since the last petrol supply panic in 2021.

Can't object to £100pcm. How long for and what is the balloon? Any mileage limit? 4 years, 8k miles a year, balloon schmalloon is £5k.

Or…should we have a holiday from anything to do with the tedious things? 😉 Perhaps a holiday from looking at a thread called "Electric Cars" if you don't want to see anything about them?

Just of curiosity I did a search on Autotrader a few days ago and was surprised how cheap some Leaf's were that were only a few years old. Brand new unregistered can be had for £17.5k at the moment. End of production. It's a great shame they aren't updating it with the latest battery/charging tech and offering a hatchback EV rather than going all in on Crossovers and SUVs. This will be my last Nissan EV, I expect.

Ah, great. I had missed that snippet. Hopefully it remains a hatchback and doesn't mysteriously sprout stilts. An estate version would be golden. But I won't hold my breath.

"The company also said it was cutting off access to its Leaf app for older vehicles, a decision that reportedly angered users." www.silicon.co.uk/e-innovation/green-it/nissan-leaf-uk-552879This bothers me more about connected vehicles. How functionality can simply be pulled from users. It's not a £200 phone. This is my concern with the EV we have. After 7 years how much will licence fees be to maintain existing functionality. Will they be available or simply pulled to encourage us to buy a newer car ? Simple answer is nobody knows.

Can't say I care about the app switch off. It's only for pre-2016 cars. I only use the app to check the charge level of the battery, but I'm then going out to the car to set the timer on the in-car screen and physically plug it in to use the cheapest overnight slots on my Agile tariff, and I can get that info in the car too.

It's obsolete tech and not a great long range car, there are better vehicles out there now, but for the money you just can't beat them if the limitations don't matter to your personal use case, as they don't to mine. First time I'll have ever had a third example of the same car. I've had 2x VW Tourans, 2x Mazda 6ses, 2x Alfa 33s, but never 3x anything.
39 cars will have been through my hands (including those shared with the Mrs and the kids' Rolla) when this one arrives. I wonder what number 40 will be.

39?! I think my household equivalent is 15. Four of them BMWs, which Younger Me would not have predicted.

Yeah, I went through a lot of old bangers in my youth. Old cars, too.
You'll probably not be surprised to learn that I remember all the number plates. And some of my Mum and Dad's from the 70s and 80s.

Just 17 cars not including the 5 cars Mrs bpg has had in my name. FIAT were popular in my youff, had 5. Only had two models the same back to back, S60 and Focus kind of one was a hatchback the other an estate, same engine though in different states of tune.
Edit: shortest time with one car 4 months with a Rover 216 and 7 months in an Audi. Swapped the Rover for a Nova SRi and the Audi for a SAAB.
