Dacia Jogger
Is it wrong that I kind of like it? Is it actually all I need?
A diesel auto (which they don’t do) would probably be jolly useful, for me anyway.
Cheap enough things.

So you don't have time or patience to wait 30 minutes to charge an EV but you've got all day to get somewhere in one of these ?
1.2 tonnes minus passengers or cargo, a three cylinder motor with 100PS and, if you want two pedal motoring, a CVT gearbox. I can see the attraction.
If you're ever near a dealership go and sit in one, you may like it, you might not.

Er, didn't I mention these a while ago? Perfect for your needs in the not too distant future, I'd say Humph. I like them a lot. Now that the Berlingo is cripplingly expensive, and only available as a short range EV, these are the natural heirs of the type. More practical than a silly SUV-shaped Duster. They will sell in huge numbers on continental Europe, and in very low numbers in the UK because it doesn't make you look like you might have a country estate with horses.

Well, it’s sort of (ever so slightly) on my radar, only because I probably need something not electric for a couple or three years yet, but don’t want to spend squillions. Could, and probably will just keep going with what I’ve got, but if it started to become a problem, then I’m just thinking about what plan B could be.
It’d do very well as a bike shifter too I suppose.

It is not wrong that you kind of like it. I have no idea why anyone would even ask that question.
And yes, it could very well be all you ever need.

Might just go and have a look at one. Y’know, idle curiosity and so on, no agenda here at all…🤔

They don’t do a diesel auto (yet, if ever?) so it would just be research really.

Shades of the old Peugeot 504 Famille. Not a stupid car and clearly where Dacia are focussing their marketing. Lower income, larger families. Should do well near me. Volvos were replaced by JDM Previas and Estimas. Awful things badly driven.

Still, probably, although not certainly, would prefer a Duster. Just returned from a mountain biking trip in Welshland and the last half a mile or so would have been less stressful with a bit more ground clearance. Not impossible of course, and nothing bad happened, but it was just a bit twitchy around the sphincter region here and there.

They will never do a diesel Dacia Jogger - the market does not want diesel. Best you can get as a compromise for improved range and get up and go I guess will be a PHEV.

A PHEV, at the moment, doesn't meet the disposable vehicle budget. You're looking at Toyota RAV4 or Ford Kuga or possibly mild 48v hybrid Ford Puma kind of budgets which are probably 10k higher. Edit: scratch that diesely, SUV, throwaway budget itch in your neighborhood Humph: www.fow.co.uk/used-cars/13985593-ford-eco-sport-1.5-tdci-95-titanium-5dr-17in/Not an auto though, you'd have to pedal it yourself the rear seats could probably be permanently removed and you get a quirky side hinged tailgate.

Hmm, can’t really say why, but I’ve never been a fan of the Ecosport.
Sometimes though, it just comes to you doesn’t it? I’ve sort of just realised that we already have a reasonably economical SUV with a bit of ground clearance. 🤔

I was just yanking your chain, I'm sure there are EcoSport owners who are very happy with their vehicles but it is very niche. The Puma has gone to another level in small, sitty uppy type cars. We've got a battery powered SUV not sure I'd ever want or need a second SUV on the driveway.
