Not sure, I mean, it's quite nice and everything. Not sure if it's blissful. ...you wouldn't want it. It uses cameras built in to the door mirrors. Just think of the replacement cost............

"She" doesn't drive my car these days. Mirrors quite safe.

Of sorts. Doesn't reach the ground from memory. Bit like Norman Wisdoms's trousers, sort of flaps about at ankle height.

BLIS is about warning you before you change lane into the path of someone else. Not necessary in a Mercedes, which inspires an instinctive deference in other road users, who just stay out of one's way.

Oh is that what it is? My car does that.
Didnt know it was called bliss or whatever. But it beeps at you if it thinks you're going to stray sideways into something or if it thinks you're coming up too quick behind some other vehicle.

Curiously, I came home from Heathrow in a 2012 W212 E250. Chatting to the driver about it, he advised me to keep my S211 on the grounds that it's far less trouble. Not sure what trouble he's had with his - it seemed fine, although he muttered something about sensors - but he said good things about Star Motors of Caversham. Might be a place for Vić to try if he hasn't already.

On the other hand, I never had any bother with my 250. Nigh on 200,000 miles on it before it went. Funnily enough I'm sure I saw it today on the M1. Couldn't quite get close enough to be absolutely sure of the plate because of heavy traffic but unless there's another one with an almost identical reg in identical spec with a GB sticker in exactly the same place...

If all the Darby and Joan club on here have finished discussing their marital shortcomings, the E is back in the indie today. I've got their bright-blue-with-embarrassing-private-number-plate-bar-stool-in-a-washing-machine for the day again. What a horrible little car. Better than walking, marginally, so on balance grateful to have it and avoid the railways.
Chap at garage reckoned about a 10mm drop on one side of the rear suspension would be pretty normal and not worth looking at, but as I'm down to 20mm he thinks it's probably a pin hole in what he called the "airbag". i.e. the item Otto K linked to might need replacing. I'll know more later.
Fingers crossed the gearbox oil change sorts the main issue.

I've had barely any near-miss-cutting-up incidents since having the E, it was almost a daily occurrence in the SAAB. Seem to remember I used to have a thread cataloguing them elsewhere, "Idiot of the Day". An appalling thought that it is even possible that people decide how to drive dependent on the badge being worn by other cars.

They're about twice the distance from home, but still only a matter of 2 miles or so. There's another one out in Calcot too. Good to have competition around for one's preferred supplier, keeps them keen I should think.
