I really should replace mine. 165,000 and counting. Back up to 3000-4000 miles a month now. But, a significant part of me says keep it and run it until it won’t run anymore. It’s still behaving itself. Pal of mine has a Merc Sprinter van with a very similar engine, it has more than 300,000 miles on it and hasn’t let him down yet:

That's why I liked the look of that 58 reg saloon I posted up. The engine. All joking aside, for my purposes a 220cdi would be ideal for me. They go on to very high miles. I'd persevere with yours, Humph, given that it shows no signes of the usual E Class expensive problems. If I had slightly larger sperhicals, I might go and look at this: www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202111099383090

I have the money set aside to buy a replacement when needed, so I’m very much of a mind to just keep going with it for now. If it suddenly stopped working, I/we could just about manage with the Jeep and the Aygo for a while until it was sorted or replaced.

Nah, those rude boys wouldn't be seen dead in a 7. Especially a doom blue 7.

Those 7 series are nice though. Wouldn’t want to have to get one fixed very often mind.

I suppose it’s a double edged sword thing. It probably won’t go wrong very much, but when it does…🥵

…which is much more likely at 18 years than at, say, 8. Not a thing to buy if saving money is high on your list. Your problem would not be spherical but disc-shaped and jangly — or thin, oblong and weirdly slippery.

If my Ioniq failed to arrive I could be tempted by this. But, given the huge number of car detaiing videos on YouTube, why can't these dealers clean the cars before they photograph them. If you're going to take a close up photo of the SatNav screen at least clean the surround and remove the crumbs from the

Yeah, I suppose North Wales is a bit far if you’re relying on Duracells… 😉
