I’d give it a go. Well, I can remember a time when I would have. 😵💫

I've had brown ale on corn flakes for breakfast. That was a couple of lifetimes ago when I was very much single and life was so simple, no real commitments or dependents.

I was once, more than 40 years ago, driven at fairly high speed in a Citroen CX across a ploughed field in Tuscany. Precisely how Citroens should be driven n'est pas? Was there a basket of eggs in the car as well? Sorry, EIII, but I can't let that one slide across the bench seat. It's n'est-ce pas.

He’s from Manchester. Cut him a bit of slack old boy. They do their best, considering… 😉

You're lucky I managed to even know that little bit of French. It is 43 years since I got an A in French O-level and I don't think I have written it since.
The Israeli 'Riviera' (the town where my place is) is stuffed full of expat French; so much so that the most commonly heard tongue in the town square is French and not Hebrew. Russian is a close third and English a distant fourth. I know seem to conduct conversations with three languages in one sentence.

I used to have a colleague who was a Moroccan Jewish guy who lived in Paris but had been to university in the UK. Eclectic sort of chap. Favoured digital watches and Alfa Romeos as I recall.

Sounds about right... Obviously having a penchant [see what I did there] for digital watches helped you both gain useful employment.

Not sure if it was ever useful to be fair. Quite good fun a lot of the time I suppose, and occasionally lucrative, but almost always nebulous. 😉

That doesn't surprise me. I have friends from the Maghreb and lucrative and nebulous are an excellent description of their business dealings. Much alcohol and excellent food has been consumed over the years.

Aye, there was a lot of hedonism involved, certainly pre-2008.

Back to that Citroen, and this is eerie Al…. My friend’s Mum had one of these in the early 80s too, and also took me to Cornwall in it once..! Incroyable, non?
