But asking people to change working habits from over 40 years or graft (not just small individual changes, but wholesale alteration) is hard and possibly unworkable. My family will happily buy clothes online. I can't. I need to look, feel, try. If I can't then I won't buy.
I'll be almost naked in five years time....

Still works for me, and fortunately for me and I suppose, all concerned it won't have to for too much longer. Like I said, I don't have any clever solutions ready either, but I'm pretty sure I don't want too many more things banning or regulating.

Don't visit Edinburgh anytime soon. I overheard a conversation between my wife and B-i-L who is visiting his mother with his family. They'd planned to go to Arthur's Seat/Holyrood Park for a walk and stretch the dogs legs then on to somewhere else. Traffic gridlock around Mayfield Road down towards the Meadows tuned in to a scenic bus tour with diversions and congestion, he bailed after 45 minutes and that was outside rush hour.

So we need, ultimately, to ban private cars from inner cities! Walk, bike, public transport or stay at home and await deliveries. It’s a huge change from what WE are used to, but the next generation might adapt much more quickly.
