At last, "she" has decided what she wants. Or, at least, she says she has...
The old faithful Qashqai has its 13th birthday this month and we have had it since it was 18 months old. I've never bonded with it, but, I can't fault it for having been a good and reliable servant to the household.
Anyway, she has decided that she wants a Jeep Renegade.
Yes, I know. 😬
We've found one locally, a 2018 model with just shy of 30,000 miles on it. One owner, FSH etc. 1.4 petrol manual. Longitude edition apparently ( whatever that means )
Put a £99 refundable 48 hour holding deposit on it last night and have booked a test drive for Saturday.
Its white, with black trim and has a few twiddly bits.
Not my first choice of car, but it's not for me, and she loves the look of it, so what the hell.
Feedback to follow post Saturday's adventure.
( Will I need to get a surfboard to strap to it do you think? )

It's a FIAT 500X.
Dear God what a dreadful choice. I am sorry for your troubles. And white. Lord above.
Is the boy getting the Qashqai? Seems a shame to let a known good car go. Even though it's a fake 4x4.

Christ. So the Qashqai is going, and the Aygo is staying?

Looks that way. I'm trying not to dwell on it.

Jeebers. Are you trading the QQ in? What's the offer on it from the dealer, if you don't mind my asking?

No, it's a Longitude, but it looks pretty much like that. Going for my jab, talk later.

Group 15 insurance on the QQ. Hmm.
I guess the main upside of the Renegade is your choice of engine. The 1.4 MultiAir is reputed to be very good. It's the sort of car which would suit my Mum, come to think of it, but she lives at the bottom of a swamp in Swampland.

My accountant/walking partner has one. Identical but 16 reg. Terrible ride in the rear. Noisy but I see the charm from the exterior. Interior is adequate but too many Jeep icons dotted around. Can't see it lasting as long as the QQ but if the boss likes it, we have to stomach it don't we...
If I knew my accountant was going to buy one, I might have chosen another firm. He has no interest in cars, only in the cheapest deal for a car that suits his purposes. If he does 5,000 miles a year its a lot. His total commute is only seven miles a day. I told him to buy electric but that's too expensive..
