Is there such a thing as a mountain trike ? You know for when two wheels get a bit much...

I have actually met a guy on a hand cranked recumbent trike with off road tyres up a hill. He was parted from his legs in Afghanistan but wanted to continue with his MTB hobby.
For me, when/if the time comes that I can't get up the hills, I'll most probably get an electric MTB.
Not yet though !

In thinking about it further, what I really want is a car that one can grab by the scruff of its neck, wring it out and get the revs up to the red line and still not get done for speeding; and not enough power to break the grip of the tyres, well maybe just a little more . Having been a passenger in an MX-5 I just felt sick. Hence the idea of a K-car type thingy or maybe a Fiat X1/9. Just don't trust 1970s Italian steel however well restored.

Thread's dead, baby. I'm gonna stay electric. Banger to be sourced next autumn for learner practice duties.

I loved ours. Gearbox complaints are unfounded, and are made by people who can't drive.

They all look in decent order despite age and mileage... And lots of spares for the engines I assume as there are still plenty of regular Mk1 Smart ForTwo's around.

Very well built little cars. Great quality materials. Unlikely to have been thrashed, they don't attract that sort of buyer, all being semi-automatic. But watch for leaks in to the footwell which can cause major electrical grief. Well documented on enthusiast forums as you'd expect.

Nissans aren't they? Not sure if you're old enough for one of those. 😜

I thought Scots were well educated in the Three R's...
Further thoughts...
Vauxhall Tigra MG TF - did that have the HG failure mode sorted? The Diahatsu Copen (folding hard top) Lots of Smart/Brabus ForTwo available some with cabrio roof. Renault Wind

All of the above beg the same question I'm afraid.
Why?
Anyway, my neighbour, who has had a succession of large Peugeot estates, latest one was a 508SW, has recently bought a little 108 with a roll back canvas roof. He used to have a 2CV as a lad apparently, and has long hankered for a modern equivalent. He's really enjoyed it this summer. Not that there has been anywhere to go.

Renault Wind - what an ugly car. Why one of those? Did the K series engine ever get fixed for HG problems?? Is the K series in the TF??
How about a Vauxhall VX220.... or is that as unreliable as the donor Lotus bits?

I think this has turned in to a wind up.
How can someone who lusts after an Espada consider a Corsa in a posh frock or a Renault Wind ? Have I stumbled into a 90s hairdressers salon ?
OK, I'll play along. Reliant Scimitar SS1, you won't see another while you're out and about.
