That’s kind of cool! Can’t find one on Autotrader though…

Give it a few years. And it'll probably be electric, so you'll like that.

I do like electrically powered vehicles. They’re just the ticket for y’know, the “others”… 😉

An electric ekranoplan on the Thames would give HM’s swans something to think about.

I like watching swans land on water (that sounds wrong doesn’t it) it’s pretty much a controlled crash. Quite a common sight on the canal hereabouts. It would feel sort of appropriate to hum the theme from Top Gun as they do it.

There was a dead one on the pavement of Caversham bridge a few weeks ago, I expect it flew a little low and got hit by a truck. Very sad. The silly idiots often fly across the bridge at low altitude rather than swim under it. And there are bloody loads of them here due to the constant crowds of people feeding them bread. Lovely creatures, but why mankind feels the need to feed them inappropriate foodstuffs all day every day I'll never know.

I got a hydrofoil from somewhere near Sorrento to Capri about 20 years ago. It stank and make me travel sick. I did that crossing with my parents in 1981. Very rough, probably the aroma from that crossing you were still experiencing.

Very rough, probably the aroma from that crossing you were still experiencing. The missus was in early pregnancy at the time and suffering morning sickness. We were not well bunnies and it kind of put a kink in the day on Capri as we weren't looking forward to the journey back.

They were always supposed to belong to the Queen weren’t they? Don’t suppose she’s bothered now of course.

No. Different HM now, so I suppose they’re his. But I did wonder in that period between accession and coronation whether we were allowed to eat them.

They eat weeds, grasses and the occasional tadpole. Fish only by accident, and only tiny ones. Doubt that would affect the flavour.

We were not well bunnies and it kind of put a kink in the day on Capri as we weren't looking forward to the journey back. Sounds like you had exactly the same experience we had. None of my family ever suffered from motion sickness of any kind before or after that boat trip. It does put the mockers on what you'd hope would be a nice day out watching the weather all day knowing you have to make the return trip.
