Before that, everything rusted including all Hondas until we got the 1993 CRX, Civic Shuttle and Accord. Just realised what I have written; sounds like we bought three Hondas in one year! But no, they were all J-reg but bought at different times and I'm not sure we owned the CRX at the same time as the Accord 4WS.

I absolutely love everyone's ability to be so clear eyed about rusty FIATs in the 70s and 80s, and still keep bringing it up as if it has any relevance to modern cars, and yet completely ignore the catastrophic rust on Mercedes in the 90s/00s, Japanese marques, and Fords from about 1900 to, oh, let's say 2020. Brilliant. I had 4 pre-90's FIATs and a '98 Coupe. I could mix filler and fibre-glass with the best of them during my college years to keep the early ones going, The Coupe just liked track rod ends, 220hp through suspension designed for 150hp 16v Tipo was never going to be a recipe for longevity.
