Probably Avant, but irrationally enough, I quite like the idea of "taking back control" so to speak... 😉

The Superb IV estate has more room than an Passat GTE estate but reduced by over 100 litres compared to the non plugin hybrid version.
BIK for a car registered after April this year is probably at the 12% rate. It was only 3 and a bit years ago I was paying BIK at 14% on an Audi A3 saloon! The rates have shot up especially as they are not WLTP based.

Given the mileage Humph does, I'm not sure I would want to be in anything other than a mile munching machine like an E-class or perhaps the Mondeo. The Berlingo is fine for the occasional foray, but 1,000 miles a week?

I agree Espada. And with the new company car BIK rates he won't have another company car if he needs that load space. A bit less space and plugin hybrids will save a lot of money.
I wonder where he stands if he wants another company car. If we opt out we can opt in again.

I honestly can't think of anything that would suit your professional and personal requirements better (apart from your image requirements). I bet you could get three people and their pushbikes INSIDE a Berlingo XL. You don't need the XL for that.

I'm not doing that mileage week in week out but the Berlingo has been fine as far as Alps, Northern Costa Brava and the Western Isles. Five or six hundred miles in a day. The original one from 2005 was a bit short of grunt and although happy all day at 70 it took a while to att ain that speed. Current HDi 115 has no such difficulties.....

I get that, but every week? Seems a lot if you also want to arrive at a meeting fresh as if you had walked from home two minutes away.

Pondered it over the weekend. Going to keep it at least until the end of the year and see what sort of business world we're in before thinking of what happens next.

I wouldn't let it sit around too much if I were you, those suspension components might start perishing and those injectors might start playing up.

Totally sensible approach Humph. Who knows what state the country is on by the end of the year. Fingers crossed it won't be any worse than say the financial crash but that might wishful thinking.

Did the deal a week ago today and the new V5 arrived today. Thought that was quite good under the circs. Lower staffing levels etc. Then it occurred to me that there probably haven't been a lot of vehicle keeper transfers to process of late...

We sold my father's Sirion to a doctor friend whose car had died and he needed to get to hospital. He borrowed the car for three weeks and then said he wanted to buy it. I did the transfer online on a Friday and within a week he had a new V5. So yes, probably reduced volume. But to be fair, I do find the DVLA to be reasonably efficient on regular stuff.

Surprised you sold the Sirion and kept the Punto, EIII.

The Sirion had done over 80,000 miles and was 12 years old. The Punto despite its age (16 years) and superficial external dents, has only done 28,000 miles and is in excellent mechanical condition with no rust according to the garage. Also, it is manual and the Sirion is auto. We want our remaining child (daughter turning 16 in September) to learn on a manual. So Espadrille issued the edict that the 'spare' car was the Sirion....
