What size tyre do you need WDB? I've got rucks of the things in the garage, might not be your choice but might keep your wheel turning for a few weeks if I've got one that'd fit. No charge if I do, just everlasting gratitude will be fine. 😉

Kind of you, Humph! The one I want is a 700x42c, but it's replacing a 700x37c, so anything that width or wider ought to do, if it can run tubeless. The old one isn't desperate yet, but it's surprised me how fast it has worn away. Don't do anything just yet. I'll talk to my dealer (!) tomorrow; they've been known to have access to things that aren't listed where I can see them.

If it's working, that might be the best option, as was ( also ) previously mentioned, I reckon there'll be some reet royal mildly used bargains to be had shortly. By which time it'll be winter and sod going out an a bike then.

They’re different sizes, which is apparently A Thing in off-road bikes: 42mm front, 37mm rear; different treads too. The logic appears to be that you want grip on the front for steering, but minimal rolling resistance behind for speed. Only, the more knobbly, wider front tyre sings a bit on tarmac but doesn’t seem to slow things down, while the little tread blocks on the back one pick up any mud that’s going and — in my case anyway — wear away quickly.
I wouldn’t want the back tyre (a WTB Riddler) on the front. The surface I most mistrust is heaped chippings over tarmac. There’s a junction I negotiate often, a left turn into a lane at the bottom of a fast descent. I’m full on the brakes and aiming at the narrow gap between the heaps of grit, knowing that if I or the front tyre get it slightly wrong, it could get embarrassing. It hasn’t happened yet, but with a less helpful tyre, it might.
The front tyre is a WTB Resolute, and if you are lucky enough to be able to find the 2020 version of my bike (I have the 2019) it will come with two of them. That’s the setup I’d like for mine too. I also like the look of the similar René Herse Hurricane Ridge, but it’s equally hard to find and fabulously expensive, so the WTB will be just fine if I can get one.

Yeah, I remembered you'd mentioned the different sizes before, but only after I'd typed the question. I did have a Marin set up like that a while back. Totally smashed the rear of the frame on that. My own fault, I was asking it to do things it wasn't capable of.

Well, just in case we are allowed to go anywhere this summer, I've done an audit on the family bike peripherals like lights, spare inner tubes etc, and also the roof bars and bike carriers as we've change the car since last summer (might have mentioned that). Some new lights and inners ordered as a result. I've needed to order new fittings for the different style roof rails the Civic has, but managed to keep the same roof bars (Cruz square steel ones). Needed one new securing wingnut and one new locking knob (missus) for a bike carrier. All should arrive by next week, so we'll be good to travel if we can.

Is it possible to increase the coolness of a brownish red, automatic Honda Civic estate? I'd like to think not.

I'm 5'7" tall with inside leg of about 29.5" at best. What is the best frames size for me in inches or cm? This any good? Forme Cromford 1 Lots of detail about sizes at the bottom. But no weight info. Can get the 19" for £380.
