...because it’s done. It’s been Got Done. All is now well and fine and lovely. There will be no more rainy weekends imposed on Plucky Little England by our unelected overlords in Brussels.
I spent my final full day as a citizen of an outward-looking democracy in Denmark. It rained. But I still felt better there than I do here today.

I like Denmark. Used to go there a lot at one time. Aarhus in particular. We used to work with a supplier who had their headquarters on the docks there. The building had originally been a German U boat base. Half under water and so on. Quite a James Bondy sort of a place. Nice though. Good pies.

I like Denmark........... ...never mind, the way trade is going you should at least be able to substitute Doncaster..... (I'd give the pies a miss, though!!).

So who's ordered one ? Delivery from week commencing 11th Feb. (love the irony) missed the actual "Got Brexit Done" date, would make a lovely Valentine's surprise for the lady with the blue rinse in your life.

Not what I’ll be using to wipe my champagne glasses — but I can think of something else I might wipe on it.

It's actually anatomically incorrect (that picture only has one face). Having read the Telegraph today, it's looking very much like a hard, no deal, Brexit. The EU won't be backed into a corner by this rabble who can't deliver to their own timelines.

It was my 50th birthday the day before Brexit, and I had a big party on the evening after. Nobody mentioned it once, I didn't bother watching the news or even seeing any internet coverage. Just food, drink, family and friends. Also, on Brexit day itself, Mrs A had a consultation up at the Marsden following her year of horrific surgery etc. The consultant professor now rates her a 96% chance of no recurrence, and no further invasive or unpleasant treatments to face.
Fulham even won, away from home. So it was a good weekend overall. But *eyeroll smiley* for the Scotland rugby team, who missed a golden opportunity for a decent win, as per usual. Still, I got to enjoy watching the game with a few pints of ale and a good friend from Belfast who I don't see that often.

Congratulations, Vić. It’s not so bad once you get used to it. (Being 50, that is. The other thing is going to take a lot of getting used to.)

The other thing? Fulham winning? Yeah, I'd never get used to that if it became the norm.

Really good news about Mrs A. I didn't want Brexit either, but at least you and she are one European union that's still going strong.

Really good news about Mrs A. ...indeed. From the sounds of it she hasn't had an easy few years. It's easy to overlook the pressure that puts on those close, so it must also be a weight off your shoulders, Al. Long may it be so.

Thank you fellas, all of you. Second time she's been through this in the last 11 years. It's been tricky facing this at the exact same time as bring up two children, the second still in the cradle when it hit first. Light at the end of the tunnel now hopefully, and retirement planning begins in earnest.

It was my 50th birthday the day before Brexit, and I had a big party on the evening after. Great news about Mrs A and Happy Birthday Vić, same day as mine. You should come over to Dummer next year. There are six of us in our local with the same birthday not counting any kids in the village who might have the same date. Not bad from a population of around 500.
