On reflection, an older Sonny Crockett might well have a CLS...

Yes well..... the heart is young and compared to the drivers along the A69 yesterday I reckon I'm still 18. No gumption to overtake despite miles of empty road in front of them and a slow moving tractor blocking their way.
Thank heavens for 265bhp, sport mode and lots of torque... But even the kids' Punto could have done better than most mimsers

Told you before T&E, the reason your knees are knackered is because you wander about with that ice pick tied to them. Ditch that and they'll be fine. π€

Can't you have them repaired? I suspect it will come to that point sometime. The last major problem, leading to a second arthroscopy on the left knee arose on a very long descent in Austria, when the circumference measured around my knee almost doubled. I was seen within 6 weeks by a consultant (still swollen), and operated on almost immediately after. I was told that the joint was now full "bone on bone" and he expected to see me back within the year for a half-knee replacement. As it happens, cleaning the joint out made a big improvement, and, though I expected fairly rapid deterioration, in the last 6 years it has possibly got better rather than worse. I haven't had any re-occurrence of the swelling, though TBH, I am careful what I undertake. It hurts somewhat, and is sore after significant exercise. With the care outlined above, and elastic knee braces, and the ice pick axe replaced by a walking stick for the more strenuous walking days (SWMBO has used poles for some years), I can still do a good day's walk or cycle, but steps, rock-hopping, and long downhill descents are uncomfortable. The other knee is going the same way, I think. Nonetheless, on the recent holiday, we've either walked or cycled nearly every day (40 miles max cycling, possibly 15 miles max walking, and in hilly areas), so, on a risk/reward basis, with abit of discomfort/pain I'm happy enough at the moment. As a bit of advice to ESP, I am convinced that regular exercise (I walk some distance daily unless the weather is really bad), the assistance of a stick (I can't get on with poles), and the knee braces (possibly psychological, but I don't think so) make a big difference. If you enjoy walking, try to do it regularly, and don't overlook the aids.

Thanks. I'll bear all that in mind. I like the poles but haven't tried a stick, so will give one a go...
