I'm not buying it. Alfasud 1.5 Ti is The Greatest Car Ever Made. You must be mistaken.

A great car drive in the 1980s, but within four years it was a pile of rust.
After the Cortina went I bought an Uno 70. I liked it very much but it let water into cabin, so after a year I got my money back and bought a Golf.
The Uno was bought after a heart wrenching choice with a Peugeot 205 XS. Should have bought the Pug.... it was more in the spiritual mold of the Alfa.
The Fiat was slow. A courtesy car I had once was an Uno 45 and was faster than mine..

After the Cortina went I bought an Uno 70. ...first new car I had was a metallic dark blue Uno 70. I liked it very much, and SWMBO and I bowled around quite a bit of Europe in it. It was shortly after it was released, though, and pre-galvanisation, so it caught tin-worm fairly quickly. (ISTR replacing the metal bands holding the fuel tank, as they had nearly rotted through ). It still found a ready buyer when we moved it on, though.

They were ground breaking in their own way. Spacious and with a great dash design which combined common sense with Citroen's wacko satellite design.

I expect dorks such as us all know this, but I'm given to understand that the Mk 1 Nissan Micra was a rejected design for the FIAT Uno.
Never had an Uno, but I did have a 127 Sport...

Drove an Uno once. It rained. The one windscreen wiper didn’t sweep the bit I needed to see through. I got my right foot on the accelerator only by resting my knee against the door and my heel somewhere under the brake pedal. By the end my ankle was so sore I could barely stand on it to get out.
So I’m sure it was great. But it was also rubbish.

An Italian company I used to do some work for had a small fleet of Unos as pool cars. The most basic spec available with some form of Diesel engine. I'd borrow one occasionally if required. Fairly underwhelming in truth.
Edit - but an Alfa 75 I managed to blag from them once ( might have been a 3 litre come to think ) biggish petrol anyway, was quite whelming.

I once (18 years ago?) rented a Fiat Doblo with an unturbocharged diesel engine. Four of us for two weeks. It was painfully slow and not that economical.
However after I had ring it's neck and given it daily Italian tune ups it was noticeably faster and more economical.
It not always the car...

...did you take it to an hotel...... Would you have had me park it next to a Volks-waggon? Or a Lahn-seeya?
