...because I can't be @rsed to take a motorcycle test, I semi-seriously considered an MP3 to tow behind the 'van.
That was how the ebikes happened.
Correct choice, but I still covet..

WDB - delighted to hear of Beestling no. 1's success. You believed in him and he believed in himself - that's half the battle.
Out of interest, where and what at university?

Good lad, all the best to him ! And, if it becomes necessary, 4 cylinders aren’t so bad... 😉

Can you get a four-cylinder pizza moped then?

...not available as part of the delivery service round here. I assume that costs (quite a bit) extra.

Pah - I went to university back in 1987 with all my chattels squeezed in to a Ford Fiesta! Including a b&w portable telly!

Pah - I went to university back in 1970 with all my chattels squeezed in to a cabin trunk.
It was, on one occasion, part-squeezed into the boot of my mate's Ford Anglia - which was fine until he ran out of fuel at 11pm, and we had to leave the car on the side of the road with the trunk protruding from the boot. Wasn't long before it attracted plod attention.

Uni, 1988, Ford Escort MkIII 1.6 Ghia, metallic read. Loved that car. It went back home with Mum though after she dropped me off.

Uni 1983. Cortina 2.0 GLS which replaced an Alfasud 1.5 Ti. No prizes for guessing which one was more reliable...

Everybody I spoke to said the Cortina had a dodgy auto choke. Never gave me a moment's trouble. Didn't rust, minor repairs and servicing were dirt cheap and it only got sold because the wheels were stolen off it.
Don't talk to me about the Alfa! What a disaster...
