There will be Welsh people there with drink in them. Be careful of them, especially if you’re planning on wearing anything woollen. 😬

Fairly uninterestingly I suppose, I saw an example of what must have been one of the last ever Mondeo estates yesterday. Have to say it was a good looking thing in dark grey. Not sure what model/trim it was but it looked nice. I’d still happily have one. Useful things and good to drive. I think you might have been a bit disappointed if you'd actually got into it, Humph. Probably a hybrid with a raised boot floor and CVT transmission. Oof, never meat your heroes. My Focus has a proper TC gearbox that avoids 3 year oil changes of those Powershift units.

Also 2 English lads, and one of uncertain provenance (i.e. he's a bit of many things, including Maltese, like myself). I will be putting a fleece on to travel home on Sunday, should I be worried?

Yeah I did wonder if it might be a hybrid. Which in and of itself wouldn’t be a worry really, but the raised boot floor in an estate seems a bit of a fail.

That one is about five years old Al. At the end Mondeo's, Galaxy and S-Max were CVT hybrids. 😭

As for the fleece, well, probably best to avoid any eye contact.

Pretty sure I wouldn’t want an estate car with a chunk of its load space missing. Just daft.

Ah. Still nice though, and big enough boot for anyone I'd imagine… It’s a big old step, though. Reminds me of my old hitman-antique dealer days in Reading, when I had to fit in today's Chippendale table on top of yesterday’s rug-covered corpse.

Makes the boot lip about as high as an SUV. That doesn't seem to bother anyone buying Audi Q7s.

Also puts any bulky load in the line of sight from the rear view mirror. Tchah! As Lud used to exclaim.

Christ it has just occurred to me that I’m pretty much as old now as Lud was when I first started posting on HJ. Oh my goodness. 😧
