Calm down! Its only a programme. Treat it like you treat Star Trek or Dr Who.

My goodness you must be a leaden footed pair of boy racers! I get 40-50,000 out of the tyres on my Merc.
Anyway, 4 Hankooks now on "his" car. £49 each, so not too scary.

That's different. Dr. Who is real.

Isn’t what defines a burner phone that it’s used once, for an illicit call, then discarded or destroyed? Until then it’s just the same as any PAYG phone. And if I had a phone I intended fir that sort of use, I wouldn’t give the number to a tyre shop that knew my name — which may even be my real name.
In fact, after a minute’s thought, I’d go further. I don’t give my burner’s number to anyone because nobody is to call me on it. It has one stored number, probably that of another burner, so I can deliver my one message about my illicit assignment without creating any positioning or personal information traceable to either party.
All the same, I suspect Esp is right, that his SUV man operates in the ‘cash economy’ and prefers to keep traceability — as well as tyre tread — to a minimum.

A "burner phone" is a TV concept like photo enhancement introduced to make criminals easier to find in programs like NCIS.
There is no such thing.

You sometimes see a 'criminal' in a show use a SIM only once and destroy it. But they use the same phone which has an IMEI number.
I can see how using a PAYG phone not registered in their name makes sense. I don't believe someone destroys a phone or SIM after using only once either.

It must depend on the degree of nefariousness involved. But Otto knows best.

I did fancy Cross Climates but they were £180 each. I do wonder about Primacy 4s and whether they might be the best compromise next time around. Anyway, what will summer arriving early, I don't think wet grip is much of an issue at the moment...
Switched out Michelin Primacy 3 for Primacy 4 on the front of the B250e.
I suspect they contain more silica as they grip much better in the cold/wet than the Primacy 3 ever did (Down to ~2.5mm after 16,500miles).
Big thumbs-up from me.

Yes, but with only a four cylinder car you cannot do that much damage to the tyres.... Indeed, that, the significantly better fuel consumption, the lower insurance group, the more than adequate performance, the lower bik rating if applicable, the equal levels of comfort and practicality, the lower purchase price and being subject to exactly the same speed limits as a 6 cylinder could all be seen as major disadvantages I suppose... 😉

Anyway, the Merc needed two new front tyres. It has been on Continental Sport Contact 3s. Seem pretty good, handle and wear well, so I looked to replace them like for like.
However, there was a significantly better deal on Continental Contact Premiums at KF so I went for those instead. Subjectively, they seem much quieter and smoother somehow. Better wet grip rating too.
Just thought you might be fascinated.
