I was almost like Guardiola for the Sterling penalty. My son had to force me to watch. In the end I just wanted to go home to my bed. At least from Stanmore, it only took 3 hours and 20 minutes to north Manchester. Managed to avoid the M1 overnight road closures.

A lucky win on Saturday for ManCity. Two goals likely to have been disallowed if VAR was in use. Pep played a very straight bat apologising and saying he was bemused at the lack of VAR at a stadium clearly capable of operating it.
Meanwhile ManCity supporters overjoyed that ManU were dumped out of the FA Cup by Wolves (a genuinely tough game) but disappointed that Fulham couldn't stop themselves fouling Liverpool which meant that the Scousers go back to the top of the table, albeit having played one more game.
Still, the quadruple is still on , but looking increasingly unlikely given the number of games we have to play between 30th March and end of April (eight or nine I think) and the injuries we have.

Not quite sure I get the Fulham comment. Never a penalty.
Relieved that Brighton disposed of that horrible club from the East in the end.
I expect an FFP FC vs Wolves final now.
Also, you can't be in all competitions and not have a busy fixture list - that's kind of the point.

I didn't see the Fulham-Liverpool game but the BBC seemed to imply that it was a certain penalty.
I have no doubt Wolves will beat Watford. City can easily slip up to Brighton (although the odds are slim), and yes of course we have busy fixture list. A team has to have a decent depth of squad to maintain winning ways in multiple competitions to ensure rotation of players and in this regard, with several of our important players injured, the chances of more than one piece of silver is looking slimmer buy the day.
We do have a nice two week window of the international break when some of those important but injured players have the time to recover and gain fitness ready for the onslaught of April.
Anyway, I'm not going back down to Wembley for the FA Cup semi-final. It's such a shame that it has to be there and not somewhere half way between the south coast and north west.

If you'd seen the Fulham game you'd know that the player who was allegedly fouled for the penalty was also yellow carded for simulation in the same incident. I'm still trying to work that one out.
Agree on the Wembley comment. Should be for Finals only. Although when we played our Neanderthal neighbours in a semi some years ago they made us play it at Villa Park on a Sunday evening, which was ludicrous. Should have been a neutral venue in London.

I wish they venue for semis was decided after the teams were through to that round. Similarly with Champions League final. Two UK teams going to Madrid? Chelsea and ManU in Moscow a few years ago? Bonkers.
There are now enough large stadia of high quality in the UK that we don't need to go to Wembley. IF you remove the Club Wembley seats, the stadium has no more seats for supporters than most Premier League clubs.

Hilarious scenes at Anfield last night, and Right Tart Lane the night before.
Shame.
Hope Ajax win it, but of course it's boring Barca's to lose now.

Indeed If it wasn't for a dubious VAR decision, City would be Champions elect .

Good. #AnyoneButLiverpool.
But it is somewhat tiresome to see the top 6 Premier League places taken by the 'big' 6, richest clubs. Thoroughly boring. You'll excuse me if I discover a sudden allegiance to Hornets on Saturday.
Back to the second division again for my lot next season. At least it should be a bit more exciting then the procession and ritual humiliation we've been subjected to this year.

At least there is likely to be some variety in the order of the top six over the years. In Germany, Spain, Italy and France the likely candidates for the winners and runners up are from a much smaller pool. Bayern almost exclusively in Germany, Madrid x 2 and Barcelona is Spain, AC or Juve in Italy and only PSG in France these days.
Excited at Salford City getting in the League though. I can see myself going there a few times as it is only a 15 walk from home.

Again, Salford City is a rich boys' plaything.
There's something very wrong with football that historic clubs like Notts County and Stockport County can simply rot away.
Not sure what the answer is though.

Next season though, the FFP rules are in force for Salford, so the plaything has to be more 'honest'. The 'Class of 92' et al don't own an airline so far less obscurity about finances....
Apparently there are three buyers for Bolton, but all three want the club to fall into administration before they buy it. The upside is a reduction in debt from £41m to £8m; the downside is the possibility of starting the next season with -20 points!

Sad, isn't it?
I'm even losing the love a bit for my Fulham, to be honest. Even a non-achieving club like that flushes 100s of millions down the pan. Two "lesser" clubs I keep an eye on (and occasionally travel the length of the country to watch), Ayr United and Blyth Spartans, had uncharacteristically good seasons, both losing out on promotion in play-offs. I hope we see Notts County in particular bounce back though. Tremendous shame what's happened there.
Rugby World Cup later this year, that's the thing I'm looking forward to most. Pain in the neck from a live TV perspective though that it's in Japan. Friends of mine unencumbered with children and school fees are going over there for the tournament. I are most envious.
