Completely bonkers having it in Qatar in November/December... Although the South American countries presumably suffer some discrimination in that the World Cup is usually held in their winter, which presumably has always played havoc with their season.

Don't really follow this stuff but The Lad has adopted Liverpool as home and lives in sight/earshot of Anfield. Been a fan of the footy team since converting from Arsenal at around 8; before the 'stanbul miracle.
I see City dropped points today - game on for the quad.

Not likely.
Man City are currently 4 points and 1 game in front of Liverpool. Don't forget that Man City's GD is 7 better than Liverpool's so ending equal on points is not likely to work out for Liverpool.
Liverpool have to win their last two games against Southampton and Wolves game and Man City have to lose against Aston Villa.
Not really game on, is it?

I think Man City have won the premiere league the year - the deciding game was the Liverpool vs Man City game in April. I just hope Liverpool manage the treble but they have done quite well this season.

Completely bonkers having it in Qatar in November/December. So some money-driven decisions are just fine (provided they benefit Manchester City) and others are ‘completely bonkers’?

Can't see City losing or even getting a draw Vs Villa.
Liverpool came back from Villareal and looked tired against Tottenham. Tottenham went into that game with a must not lose mindset. They caught Liverpool on the break then played 80s Italian style football and "parked the bus". I think that draw is what will cost them.
Anyone else thought City has had the advantage the last two months? They've always played after Liverpool going into every game knowing what was needed. Yes, they still needed to win but psychologically I think it's easier knowing what is required rather than having to make the running.

Liverpool have looked tired ever since the first Villareal game. Both Man City and Liverpool are outstandingly good, but I think City are just very, very marginally better which stands them well over the length of a season.

I hope you are both right!
WDB - Of course.... Anything that supports my team and any other supporter would be the same. Mind you, even I thought that Anthony Taylor, yesterday's referee, was more for us than against us. I ususaly usually think that we are one team against the world!

Anything that supports my team and any other supporter would be the same. I hope that’s meant as a joke. I fear it isn’t.

Don't try to make any sense out of it WDB. It's like British politics and a GE, big peg and carry on as before.

You do need to come to a football match... Life is completely different.
My son was at the London Stadium yesterday being entertained in 'Corporate' - £300 tickets. No football shirts or any other sign of which team you support permitted. When City scored the second goal he cheered, but remained seated. He was pelted with crockery and security removed him 'for his own safety' - yeah right! You just have to accept that the world of football does not have the same values as the rest of the world. It's not pretty but people pay fortunes to watch some bloke or woman one bashing merry hell out of another person. Football is positively pleasant in comparison.

Well I'm glad of two things. Firstly, that I didn't bother watching it because it appears to have been a stinker (as per most FA Cup Finals), and secondly that at least one of the teams I wanted to lose obliged me and lost. I shall ignore the obvious counter point to that happy occurrence.
The FA Cup Final should indeed not take place until the league is finished, and then it should kick off at 3pm on a Saturday.
One day, one bright, fine day, my team will make their second ever apperance in the Final in 143 years of history, and hopefully claim their first victory. One day. One day.

Or is that a prediction of exactly when it’ll happen?🤓 Funnily enough, I remember the first one. The fragrant Miss Wickham explained it to my class one May Friday in, what, 1975? Not sure which Ham she supported but, not knowing any other football teams, I went home assuming they all had some sort of porcine connection.

Not the andhowsyerbush FA Cup or any other sponsor name. How have Emirates got away with it ? They sponsor Arsenal, the Arsenal stadium and it's the Emirates FA Cup. They also sponsor Premier League referee shirts and sponsor Real Madrid. Red Bull were blocked from sponsoring two clubs.

I was 5 and I don't recall it now, although I'm sure my Dad would have been watching it that day if he wasn't at work on shift. Football passed me by for another couple of years until it took root in my brain in 1978, with my first trip to Fulham followed by the 1978 World Cup, which is also when I first twigged there was such a thing as a Scotland, and Great Britain was actually made up of several countries and that's where my family had come from. All news to me at the time, and I was so taken in by the spectacle of that World Cup in Argentina on colour TV which we had only just graduated to, (the tickertape flying around the stadiums in particular), and the incredible match Scotland played against Netherlands, that I ended up being a Scotland fan - England hadn't qualified, remember. It took root and has never shifted. I have been fortunate enough to see Fulham (in person) in a Cup Final, the Europa League final in 2010 which we lost of course, in Hamburg. And the Play Off Final in 2018, our first ever goal scored and win at Wembley. I'd like to think there will be some more moments like that to come, but I genuinely think too many would spoil it all. Similarly I'd like to see Scotland at a World Cup again (not this year's, no way I'm travelling to Qatar) and have been fortunate to see them there once in France in 1998, at a match we of course lost to Morocco and got knocked out as a result.
