Stick a bike in the back and widen your circle of search? Ian Sampson spent months trailing an extension cable out of his office window, if that helps.

Stick a bike in the back Yup that will be handy when the volt meter heads south.

I work in a large office building belonging to a large Corporation, my desk is on the 2nd floor in the middle of the building. I can't see that working for me. I have found an indoor socket near a ground floor exit, but its on an internal wall and a lead would have to be run across a corridor, and out of a fire escape/window. I expect Facilities/H&S would have a connery and I'd probably be disciplined (or summarily executed) if I tried it.

I see the hours that the climbers put in and the constant online/phone culture including on holiday time (they're usually the arrogant arseholes as well). There's more to life than a corner office and the ability run an extension cable out the window. I haven't got what it tales to be a corporate arsehole, neither the 'ability' nor the will.

In my last work location, the double aspect corner offices were meeting rooms. So we used to make up fictitious projects, book the meeting rooms for that project, and then work in them.

I am fortunate that my roles usually come with a corner office, a PA and a parking space. I don't half increase my rates if they don't.
The corporate ladder, if one is fortunate enough to be up them a bit, are truly wonderful things.

I hold no affection for it, Otto, as you can probably tell. So long as I'm getting paid according to my worth as I see it I don't really care where I am on a ladder, or a pole come to that (mind bleach on order for you all).
Anyway, my current Corporation have informed me that the two chargers are being installed in the car park week of 25th September, which is handy. Remains to be seen what I'll be charged (ahem) to use them. If the unit rate is actually lower than my domestic supply, then I'll charge every day at work.
The car is now at the Reading dealer, so we'll be speaking later to arrange collection. He's sent me a video of the car, the dash is showing it just about fully charged and displaying a range of 87 miles. I do wish it didn't have a black interior, but those were deleted as an option on the Leaf with the GEN 2 models, so they're all black now. Which is weird and poor form.
Mazda MOT this afternoon - it expires on 6th October and the dealer needs a fresh one to take it PX. I wonder what massivley expensive problems they will find. Place your bets.

Unless Reading has changed significantly in the last couple of years, there are 'less stringent' places to get a car MOT'd.

As for the Ladder, for many years I wanted to be up it hence my enjoyment once I was.

Do enjoy the car, I hope it all works out well. I am, to be honest, quite envious. But it'll be along time before such a car is practical here.

I'm sure that 87 on the GOM will improve once you ease up the mpKwh. It only remembers the last half hour or something anyway, I think.

Enjoy the car... sounds like you've got a good deal and it will suit you. I could drive mostly on electric in the week and most weekends but need much longer range (in one car) at times. So PHEV would be ideal. No usable drive put's a stop to that (for now) without charging being a major inconvenience. And I have enough other inconveniences as it is

A pure EV probably wouldn't work for me as my driving can take me only 15 miles one day but 100 the next. With a range extender or a PHEV in something smaller than the Outlander, would probably work. For Espadrille it would be great. She does about 8,000 miles a year of almost purely suburban driving and she fancies something 'green'. Just need a car suitable to put the wee dog in the boot (without the parcel shelf..).
