P.S Yes I did vote UKIP this time, and for Brexit, but not for the cliched reasons of Immigration, NHS etc etc, but genuinely because I think Britain Could be better off Out. I look at it this way, I run my home and life, I keep it comfortable, solvent and viable. I trade with people and co's within the U.K and Abroad on my own terms,I don't have other people telling me when I can or can't. My "Kingdom" (for want of a better description) is flourishing and I am not running at a loss or bankrupt and I think given the chance, and the right leadership Britain could do the same.

I suspect you and I have been around this buoy in another place, although one of us under a different ID.
I can't be arsed to discuss it any further with anyone from the leave side and for the sake of peace in this pub I'm going to leave it there.

Yes I think more Senior positions should be directly elected, We cant vote for the P.M until he\she has been elected by their party as leader, which means that unless you join that Party you have no say in the choice of candidate that you may end up having to vote for. I think the General Public should elect the Party Leader (from a list of hopefuls, who wish to stand)then they have the chance to vote for their choice of person for PM.

I'm with you on that! ;-) - The E.U always brings bother when it's discussed, best left alone in a friendly Pub! ;-)

How is that working out for Police and Crime Commissioners? Nobody give s a rat's arse. Nobody is sufficiently informed and nobody has the time or energy to get involved finding out about candidates for senior Civil Service positions. We have sufficient elections. We elect people to make these decisions for us, that's representative democracy. Sadly, however, there will be one less very important election very soon.

Your Kingdom has you in the hole for >£28k www.nationaldebtclocks.org/debtclock/unitedkingdomI've yet to hear UKIP supporters tell us how their ancestors didn't come over from Normandy to be told what to do by Europeans.
