Sorry chaps but there's no excuse for garden fires in the urbs/suburbs these days. Recycling and garden waste collections should cover all. Fortunately they don't seem to happen much round my way these days, haven't detected one since last summer. I have one elderly stuck-in-his-ways neighbour near me who was doing it until last summer, but maybe even he's twigged (geddit) now that there's no need.

The Flying Scotsman is in Bury this afternoon at the East Lancashire Railway. He might have popped up to see it and cone to visit me.

Bah! Public transport! Sorry Humph but I know it's your pet hate...
Been stuck on a hot and sweaty Virgin train for the last few hours due a power line down. Somewhere just south of Stoke and now going back there and onto Crewe. Was meant to be going to the London Beer Festival but I've missed that...

Anyway, Espadrille was in London and we were meant to be getting the 21:00 home together. As I didn't make it, and Euston was chaotic due to a signal failure on top of everything else she went to Leeds from Kings Cross. I had to collect her almost as soon as a got home myself, so no pub tonight... A bottle of chilled Corona was waiting for me when I finally got home..
Think i'll have a lie in tomorrow.

Things lead to things don't they? Today, I was looking for something on a high shelf in my garage. I should have found something to stand on, but of course I didn't, and reached into the box I thought "it" might be in by stretching my arm and hand up and over. Well, of course the box toppled over depositing its contents all over me and my newly cleaned and still wet bike. The box didn't contain "it" at all, instead, it had a large, totally forgotten, but open, part used bag of dark grey floor tile grout powder. I was also quite wet at the time, having just finished thoroughly cleaning the bikes. The result was, shall we say, disappointing...
