...... Like I said, the only real worry was the remote possibility of an unplanned visit to A&E...... ...I think I understand. Wearing pink sparkly tights without matching toenail varnish would be a real faux pas for a style-guru.......

I think Humph is being a bit of a wimp as it happens, if it was the postman he would be wearing shorts.

No tights required today, temps not too bad at around 4C and sunny. Good 14 mile off road run with the added bonus of no unplanned dismounts despite a couple of big air moments. God I love it !

Relative of my Mother's (some sort of cousin) worked in cold stores. He and his colleagues all wore tights under their work garb.

Today's cycle - didn't happen. Too cold and wet. Cold is ok, but wet is miserable unless it's warm wet. Bored now, but must keep moving or she'll start thinking of things I should be doing instead.
Actually, still have to do my tax return come to think, the deadline is looming. Hate that. Involves paying. 😕
Could put it off a bit longer I suppose.

Dog and I have been looking forlornly out of the windows at the cold dark skies and constant precipitation. BUT Hot off the press My Android app "Dark Skies"has just chirped up, and informs me "Rain Stopping in the lands of the North, where the Black Rocks stand guard against the cold sea"* in 5 minutes So we are off out for a ramble *(yours of course would say Chester or some such thing)

Needed to nip over to caravan storage yard today to check 'van was OK and ask guys there to check why heating is U/S.
As it was fine and almost sunny early afternoon seemed a good chance to get the 6 speed Brompton out of hibernation. Blew tyres back up to standard 100psi and lubed chain etc.
Nice journey out even with 1:10 climb at one point. Coming back though breeze had got up to a classic 'againsterly'; hard work for a couple of miles till a 120 degree turn back on myself put wind off my shoulder.
Feel better for it though. Might even try biking to work again once it's nearer to being light at home time.

Today's cycle - Was cold, periodically wet, and the long climb to the top was harder than hard going due to soaked glutinous mud or slippery rock strewn trails and at least the strong impression, that nature had made this particular hill several degrees steeper than the last time we tackled it.
Felt like my lungs were inside out and on fire by the time we reached the trailhead. Quite disturbing really because we can normally chug up there no bother, but today, everyone was saying how tough it was. A combination of it suddenly being much colder and the wet sticky surface grabbing at the tyres, more layers of clothing on restricting movement maybe. Don't know, but it was hard.
Then, it all got much better. What a descent ! Low sun struggling through the trees, loose and damp surfaces allowing for a bit of high speed tail out showboating, hot soup and coffee back at the car and thank the lord for the bum warming seats on the way home.
Love Sundays !

36 miles out and back from Hawes today. Real brass monkeys weather, but dry and sunny. The Dales don't look much better than on days like this!
