Need to check what the service intervals are for the Ioniq 5. I would want the car checking annually anyway.

Seems like it's 10,000 miles or 12 months.

The car has a summon feature similar to Tesla. You can move the car at walking pace whilst standing outside. Useful for tight parking spaces. It took me a while to summon (ha ha) the courage to use it. But now I know how it works, I use it frequently.

That’s just wrong though isn’t it? Any self-respecting chap should be perfectly able to park his own car. Sheesh 😉

Parking is easy... try getting into a car when the moron driving the car next to you parks so close you cant even reach the handle.

Presumably it checks the perimeter for pedestrians as it goes. Does it also check underneath for sleeping cats?

It certainly stops moving if it senses anything close. I think I have seen a video of someone lying on the ground and it stopped. It is scarily impressive and incredibly useful.

Do you often get people lying down in front of your car? Mancunian thing is it? 😉

We have gone Spanish and people have a siesta these hot days in the shade of the car....

I used the self parking on the 330e and Superb. Both worked well. Skoda was better able to park in a car park spot not that I'd use it for that. But parallel parking they both would get into (and out of) spaces smaller than I would attempt. The reason I sometimes I used it was alongside the house sometimes I'd find the only space I'd have to reverse park into and I'd do it on the 'wrong side'. Legally I don't think you should park on that side of the road facing in that direction. But when I parallel park I'd always do it myself with the passenger side next to the pavement. To judge the reverse on the other side is not something I'd be so good at if you know what I mean. Superb needed you to signal to the right if you wanted to park on the 'wrong' side but the BMW just scanned both sides anyway and you'd select the space on the touch screen. Superb needed you to do brakes and change from drive to reverse. The BMW did everything including changing gear. Occasionally the number of forward/back manoeuvres would be very high to fit it

I am trying to be clever.
The car draws 7.7kW when charging through the the car charger outside my house. This means that even if I have bright sunshine illuminating my solar panels and a full battery it still takes electricity from the grid.
I had a brainwave. If I plug the car into a regular socket using the granny lead it only draws about 1.3kW which means that on a day like today all the electricity comes directly from the solar panels, none from the battery which is already charged to 100% and therefore the energy is free. The time taken to charge the car is significantly extended but as I will not be driving it until Sunday morning I don't care.
I can turn the charging off this evening and then set it to charge from say 6am tomorrow morning when it gets light again.
Let's see if it works...

7.7kW is the limit of your wallbox not the car. The car will have an 11kW inverter, throw 16A 3-phase at it and it will take 10.69kW.

I am surprised the car does not have the option to set how many amps it will draw from the charging lead of any type. Even my PHEV 330e let me set that. The granny lead itself would also be a limitation but that was more than capable of more than 1.3kW.

Just found the option. Now charging at 2.2kW. Thanks for pointing it out. Wish I had 3-Phase at home.

Free charging (I know you had to pay for the solar and battery) must make you feel good. It would me. How much was the cost of the solar plus battery? I know off grid solar/battery is fairly cheap but you'd want it all 'on-grid'.
I'm starting to think I could charge people to charge their cars at my house and make a profit. The b.EV charging points I used to use for free until October and then paid about 24p after that is now charging 46p a kWh
