Well, no, neither would I, but I'd like to if I had the wherewithal to amass a wee "collection" for pleasure purposes.

So often you read that the current owner hasn’t actually used it. Derek my hero (from Bangers and Cash) says the same. People buy these things thinking they’ll use them on high days and holidays, but most of them just don’t.

Ultimately that’s what led me to drop the 900 idea. I already had two underused cars (now three) so what would it really be for? Can’t exactly keep it in a drawer like an old camera, can I?

Yes, agreed. For reasons I shan't go into in public (don't worry it's not all that serious, just don't want to go into detail), my son hasn't been driving for a a while now. So I took the Corolla to the shops for a run yesterday, and sure enough one of the front brakes has seized on. Bit of noisiness, bit of a smell, very hot wheel trim when I got back home. Old cars don't like standing around doing nothing. I am trying to get a mobile mechanic out to sort it out before driving it again. I don't want to interfere with brakes myself.

No. Similarly, I’ve booked the Aygo in for its indicator switch next week because it needs to get some exercise.

Hope Al Jnr is better soon and back behind the wheel.

Because we have fond memories from a time when such a vehicle featured in our lives which is all about how they look, and little to do with the fact that by modern standards they are utter crap and are largely unpleasant to drive.

Yep, sad, but true.

Thought he’d been a bit grumpy recently. That would explain it… 😬

Sell Honda Al, pocket the loot. Drive the redundant Toyota for 3 months before buying anything else and see how you get on. Simples.
(Of course, after 3 months SWMBO will have spent the Honda proceeds on a new kitchen or something...)😁

I drove it yesterday evening. It's a great car and I really like it.
